Dickens Tale of Three Wines 2018

Lionel Dickens als Winemaker steht hinter diesem Projekt. Als südafrikanisches Kind der Weinbranche hatte er schon immer eine Leidenschaft für Natur und Landschaft seines Landes. Nachdem er viele Jahre in verschiedenen Bereichen der Weinindustrie gearbeitet hat, hat Lionel Dickens damit begonnen, im Weinkeller ein neues Kapitel zu schreiben. Seine Weine sind von der klassischen Tradition inspiriert – mit minimalem Eingriff hergestellt, um Ausgewogenheit, Eleganz und vor allem eine interessante Herkunftsgeschichte widerzuspiegeln.Für uns sind die Weine von Dickens „die“ Entdeckung des Jahres 2023 aus Südafrika.Der Dickens Tale of Three Wines besteht zu 98% aus Shiraz und zu jeweils 1% aus Mouverdre und Viognier. Die Trauben stammen zu 99% aus der südafrikanischen Region Franschhoek. Diese mehrdimensionale und komplexe rote Mischung zeigt vielschichtige Aromen von roten Beerenfrüchten, Veilchen und Gewürzen. Am Gaumen verbinden sich die Aromen von Beeren und Veilchen mit weichen, kalkhaltigen Tanninen zu einem konzentrierten und vollmundigen Wein. Der Wein reifte 18 Monate in französischen Eichenfässern.Der Dickens Tale of Three Wines kann sowohl pur als auch als Essensbegleiter genossen werden. Diemersfontein Thokozani SMV 2023

The Diemersfontein Thokozani Shiraz Mouvedre Viognier is a joint project of many employees of the Diemersfontein winery. The red wine is vinified under the leadership of the Diemersfontein wine team. Thokozani is an independent company in which the employees, who are also the shareholders, create their own capital. The wine is redolent of mocha, dark chocolate and tobacco, complemented by hints of liquorice. On the palate, the wine shows sweet aromas of black fruit, along with nuances of spices. The Shiraz Mouvedre Viognier from Thokozani is savoury, with fine, silky tannins. Its finish is accompanied by notes of butterscotch and smoked bacon.Try this intense red wine with steaks with chili sauce or wild boar with a creamy mushroom sauce.

Ernie Els Proprietor's Syrah 2018

The Ernie Els Proprietor's Syrah is a powerful yet elegant red wine from the famous Stellenbosch wine-growing region in South Africa. This red wine represents the terroir of the region and impresses with its balance of intense aromas, soft texture and structured depth.In the glass, the Proprietor's Syrah from Ernie Els is a deep, almost opaque garnet red. The bouquet is rich with aromas of blackcurrants and blackberries, interspersed with spicy notes of pepper, violets and a hint of incense. The generous aromas are framed by cigar box and vanilla toast. On the palate, the wine is youthful and energetic. Silky tannins wrap around deep, dark cherry fruit. Der Ernie Els The Big Easy Red ist ein kraftvoller und dennoch zugänglicher Rotwein aus der Weinregion Stellenbosch in Südafrika, der die großzügige, entspannte Persönlichkeit von Ernie Els widerspiegelt. Diese Cuvée vereint mehrere Rebsorten, darunter viel Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvedre und Grenache, zu einem runden, geschmeidigen Wein.Im Glas zeigt sich der Big Easy Red in einem tiefen Rubinrot mit violetten Reflexen. La Bri Double Door Chardonnay Viognier is a white wine with a style all of its own, created from a combination of grapes from the estate and carefully selected fruit from neighboring farms. This creative blend gives the wines a special individuality and depth of character.The nose and palate are dominated by intense aromas of ripe peaches and juicy citrus fruits. The fruity sweetness is perfectly balanced by a striking, dry acidity, so that the wine remains bone-dry despite its opulent fruitiness.The Chardonnay grapes were fermented in 300-liter French oak barrels, which gives the wine a subtle woody note and a velvety texture. The Viognier was matured separately in stainless steel tanks to preserve its fresh, fruity characteristics. La Bri Syrah 2022

La Bri Syrah is an aromatic red wine from Franschhoek full of character, reminiscent of the great tradition of the Côte Rôtie thanks to the combination of Syrah and a hint of Viognier. A beguiling bouquet of lavender, thyme, violets and oriental spices unfolds in the glass - like a walk through a Mediterranean herb garden.The two grape varieties were harvested together in the last week of February and co-fermented to achieve a particularly intense interplay of aromas. Malolactic fermentation took place in barrels, after which the wine matured for 24 months in selected French oak barrels of 225 and 300 liters. This maturation gives the wine structure, depth and silky tannins.On the palate, La Bri Syrah is multi-layered, with dark fruit, floral notes and fine herbal spice. The tannins are polished and harmoniously integrated, while the acidity provides freshness and elegance. A wine with substance, but without heaviness - refined, balanced and extremely drinkable.The botanical illustration "Herbae" on the label underlines the characteristic herbal scent of this wine: fennel, thyme, rosemary, oregano - an aromatic signature that makes it unique.An ideal accompaniment to herb-crusted lamb chops, game ragout, grilled vegetables or oriental-spiced eggplant. Raka Spliced 2023

The Raka Spliced is the perfect everyday wine that impresses with its fruity and balanced structure. The cuvée of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Viognier comes from the Klein River Valley wine-growing region in South Africa.The bouquet is characterized by intense berry notes such as cherries, mulberries and blackberries, complemented by a fine olive note. On the palate, the wine has juicy plum fruit, lively cranberry acidity and subtle smoky oak flavors that lend it depth and complexity.The grapes were harvested by hand and carefully sorted in the vineyard and in the cellar. After a second berry selection, the must was fermented with pure yeasts. During the five-day maceration, the juice was pumped over the skins several times a day and punched down by hand to extract the color, tannins and aromas in the best possible way. After fermentation, the wine was separated from the yeasts, underwent malolactic fermentation and then matured for 12 to 14 months in a combination of 225-liter French oak barriques, 25% of which were new barrels.This versatile wine is an excellent accompaniment to grilled vegetables, pasta with tomato sauce, grilled poultry or spicy cheese variations. Enjoy it at a recommended drinking temperature of 16-18 °C.
