Ernie Els The Big Easy Red is a powerful yet approachable red wine from the Stellenbosch wine region in South Africa that reflects the generous, relaxed personality of Ernie Els. This cuvée combines several grape varieties, including plenty of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvedre and Grenache, to create a round, smooth wine.

In the glass, the Big Easy Red is a deep ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, it seduces with intense floral aromas and notes of hibiscus, plums and dark cherries, complemented by spicy notes of pepper, cassis, bay leaf and a hint of sage. It is full-bodied and soft on the palate, with fine tannins. Super juicy and full-bodied, it has a mouthfeel with notes of plum pudding with cloves and wild berry aromas. Long, appetizingly dry finish.

In Golfkreisen ist der südafrikanische Golfer Ernie Els eine Legende. Das nach ihm benannte Weingut erzeugt unter dem Winemaker Louis Strydom preisgekrönte Weine. Insgesamt werden vier Kollektionen – Signature, Major Series, Big Easy und Proprietor’s hergestellt, diese verkörpern den beliebten Charakter und das gefeierte Prestige des Namensgebers. Das Weingut wurde 2005 offiziell eröffnet und konzentriert sich seitdem auf die Herstellung einer Reihe von Weinen, insbesondere Cabernet Sauvignon. Durch die jüngsten Renovierungsarbeiten ist das Weingut zu einem ikonischen Symbol der Region Helderberg in Stellenbosch geworden.
