Paul Mas Vermentino - Sauvignon 2025

The Paul Mas Vermentino - Sauvignon is a fresh, modern white wine from the southern Languedoc in France, which combines the Mediterranean southernness of the Vermentino grape variety (also known as Rolle) with the crisp freshness of Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes come from the Domaine Paul Mas vineyards around Pézenas and Montpellier, where calcareous, sun-drenched soils provide ideal growing conditions. After harvesting, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. Maturation on the lees (sur lie) rounds off the wine and gives it additional fullness and creaminess - without losing its lively freshness. The result is a light, straw-yellow wine with greenish-yellow reflections and an appealing perlage on the palate. On the nose, the wine smells of grapefruit, lime, white peach and exotic fruits such as mango - enriched with a hint of vanilla and delicate spice. On the palate, it is round, balanced and dense, with fine acidity and a medium body. The finish is pleasantly spicy and fruity. This elegant white wine not only tastes great as an aperitif, but also with goat's cheese, seafood or oysters.

De Ladoucette Pouilly Fume AOC 2024

Hardly any other landscape in France is as fascinating as the wine-growing region around the Loire, which is renowned for outstanding wines. The De Ladoucette Pouilly Fume AOC, is one of these wines, created by Baron de Ladoucette. His winery, the famous Château du Nozet, owned by the family since 1787, is the largest estate in Pouilly-sur-Loire and has been run successfully by the Baron since 1972.The soils on the Loire are characterised by lime, quartz and flint, which made the Sauvignon Blanc from Pouilly-Fumé world-famous. The French word ‘fumé’ (i.e. smoked) has a geological background. The flint in the wine-growing region gives the wine its smoky and mineral notes. In addition, the wine is characterised by aromas of tropical fruit, passion fruit, lemon and apple. On the palate, the Pouilly Fumé shows an invigorating acidity and a full body. Its long finish leaves a lasting impression. For optimal enjoyment, we recommend serving this white wine at a drinking temperature of 10-12 °C (50.0-53.6 °F). It is an ideal accompaniment to traditional Loire cuisine. It also goes beautifully with fish and poultry and is lovely to enjoy on its own as well.
