De Ladoucette Comte Lafond Grande Cuvee Sancerre Blanc AOC

Hardly any other landscape in France is as fascinating as the wine-growing region around the Loire, which is renowned for outstanding wines. The De Ladoucette Pouilly Fume AOC,  is one of these wines, created by Baron de Ladoucette. His winery, the famous Château du Nozet, owned by the family since 1787, is the largest estate in Pouilly-sur-Loire and has been run successfully by the Baron since 1972.The soils on the Loire are characterised by lime, quartz and flint, which made the Sauvignon Blanc from Pouilly-Fumé world-famous. The French word ‘fumé’ (i.e. smoked) has a geological background. The flint in the wine-growing region gives the wine its smoky and mineral notes. In addition, the wine is characterised by aromas of tropical fruit, passion fruit, lemon and apple. On the palate, the Pouilly Fumé shows an invigorating acidity and a full body. Its long finish leaves a lasting impression. For optimal enjoyment, we recommend serving this white wine at a drinking temperature of 10-12 °C (50.0-53.6 °F). It is an ideal accompaniment to traditional Loire cuisine. It also goes beautifully with fish and poultry and is lovely to enjoy on its own as well.

Pascal Jolivet Sancerre Blanc Clos du Roy AOC
The Pascal Jolivet Sancerre Blanc Clos du Roy is an exceptional Sauvignon Blanc from the renowned Sancerre appellation in the Loire Valley. The grapes come from the historic Clos du Roy vineyard in the commune of Crézancy-en-Sancerre. Around 50-year-old vines grow on the clay and limestone soils of this prestigious plot, whose yields give the white wine its special concentration, depth and expressiveness. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected after the harvest. In the cellar, Pascal Jolivet uses a particularly gentle vinification process in which the grapes are processed using gravity in order to preserve the natural quality of the grapes as much as possible. Only the first run juice and the core of the pressing are used for ageing. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, after which the wine matures for eight months on the fine lees. This long maturation on the lees gives it additional complexity, fullness and elegance. In the glass, the Pascal Jolivet Sancerre Blanc Clos du Roy presents a precise and multi-layered aroma. Notes of citrus fruit, green apple and fine mineral nuances characterize the bouquet. On the palate, the wine is dry, full of character and harmonious, with lively fruit, fine structure and remarkable length. Its chalky origin gives it an elegant minerality and a long, persistent finish. This elegant Sauvignon Blanc is an excellent accompaniment to shellfish, fish dishes in fine sauces and ceviche. Its freshness and finesse come into their own at a drinking temperature of around 10 °C.

Argiolas Iselis Monica di Sardegna Superiore DOC
Intense fruity notes of cherries, blueberries, plums and blackberries characterize the bouquet of the Argiolas Iselis Monica di Sardegna Superiore. There are also wonderfully harmonious notes of pepper, cinnamon and vanilla from the ageing in wood. The Argiolas family winery knows how to fully develop the qualities of typical Sardinian grape varieties. This is also the case with this creation, in which the Monica Nera, an indigenous Sardinian grape variety, takes center stage. The ruby red wine is soft and velvety on the palate. Ripe, sweetish tannins are noticeable, along with a great interplay of aromas (black fruits, spices again and a hint of vanilla). Perfect balance and a finish that lingers. This blend with the typical Sardinian grape varieties Monica and - in addition - Carignano and Bovale Sardo, matured for around 12 months in French barrique barrels. The interplay of fruit and wood is impressive. High quality at affordable prices: Once again, Argiolas has fully lived up to its claim.Enjoy the Argiolas Iselis Monica di Sardegna Superiore at a drinking temperature of 15 to 18 degrees. This red wine from Sardinia goes wonderfully with toasted bread with tapenade (an olive paste from southern French cuisine) and pieces of Parmesan. It also pairs well with a simple piece of medium-aged Sardinian pecorino. Also a great choice with a traditional Sardinian pasta dish with sauce or a grilled lamb chop.

Miraval Rosé Côtes de Provence AOP
For a number of years now, the popular movie stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt as well as the Perrin family (Château Beaucastel) have been the people behind the Miraval Rosé Côtes de Provence.  Given these factors of cult and glamour, the question naturally arises as to whether it's merely the name that sells here, or do connoisseurs also expect the result of true winemaking art in their glasses?  International wine gurus have long since answered this question:  The Miraval Rosé Côtes de Provence is a top wine that impresses critics year after year, breaking the magic 90-point barrier over again and again as well. The high-quality rosé from Provence is virtually a synonym for carefree, lighthearted pleasure.  On the nose, it is wonderfully fresh and complex, recalling raspberries, red cherries, currants, strawberries and pink grapefruit, complemented by notes of rose water and fresh herbes de Provence. A hint of lemon rounds off the bouquet. On the palate, the Brangelina rosé, if you will, is fascinatingly lively and elegant, with a lovely full body. Well rounded and supple, the fruitiness of this French rosé has just the right balance, with aromas of strawberries and raspberries as well as a subtle hint of fresh citrus in tasteful harmony with restrained notes of salt and minerals.  The finish of the Miraval Rosé Côtes de Provence is long, characterised by by notes of citrus.According to Roger Voss, writing in the Wine Enthusiast, “There is an attractive richness to this wine produced by the Perrin family of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The wine is full of ripe red berries mingling with spice and citrus. With a fresh, crisp and textured aftertaste, it is ready to drink.” He awarded Brad Pitt’s rosé 91 points.Up to 95% of this creation, consisting of Cinsault, Grenache, Rolle and Syrah (Shiraz), was aged in steel tanks. A small portion of this rosé from the Provence matured in wooden casks, giving this glamorous wine a fuller body and its extraordinary silkiness.Seemingly endless expanses of lavender fields, the glittering sea on the Côte d'Azur, picturesque mountain villages and stylish, stately châteaux:  all this is associated with Provence.  Miraval Rosé Côtes de Provence conveys this feeling of pausing to breathe deeply, recharging and simply enjoying the beautiful sides of life.Enjoy this shimmering, pale pink rosé chilled to a temperature between 9°-12° C. Naturally, the cult rosé is a fantastic apéritif on its own, but it is a wonderful accompaniment to shellfish, oysters or white meats as well. The Miraval Rosé Côtes de Provence also goes beautifully with vegetable lasagne, pasta salads or baguette with olive tapenade. And of course the easy-to-drink rosé lends every barbecue a tiny bit of glamour.

Surrau Branu Vermentino di Gallura DOCG
The Branu Vermentino di Gallura from Vigne Surrau is described as spring, if there is such a thing in wine. Admittedly, this is a rather fanciful description, but the wine does represent a kind of new beginning. In spring, we are enveloped by fresh, beautiful fragrances and this is also the case with Branu Vermentino. The scent is reminiscent of the sea and flower meadows. With its typical minerality and freshness, this Vermentino fully meets the expectations of the grape variety. Aged entirely in steel tanks, it has a straw-yellow color with light greenish reflections in the glass. The palate is full-bodied and fresh with intense mineral notes. The Surrau Branu Vermentino di Gallura is a great wine that is suitable both as an aperitif and as an accompaniment to oysters, snails, mussels and other seafood.
