Zenato Valpolicella Superiore 0,375 l (Halbflasche) 2022

The Zenato Valpolicella is somewhat similar to the Bardolino; however, the Valpolicella is a little more powerful and shows a fuller body – it is simply of better quality. The wine consists of Corvina Veronese (responsible for the bouquet and the acidity), Rondinella (lots of sugar) and Sangiovese (gives the wine its elegance). This is a wine that can be enjoyed young, but another few years of ageing in the wine cellar will further enhance its qualities. For years, Valpolicella has been one of Italy’s most famous wines. Unfortunately, one can find many Valpolicella wines of poor quality on the market but fortunately, we don’t have to worry about this as far as Zenato wines are concerned, as Zenato produces only high-quality wines.

Col d'Orcia Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2020

The Col d’Orcia Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is a classic Tuscan red wine made from 100% Sangiovese, combining traditional winemaking with great aging potential. The grapes come from the winery’s own vineyards in Montalcino, on the south-facing Sant’Angelo hill above the Orcia River. The average elevation of 300 meters provides ideal conditions for the Sangiovese grape to develop its characteristic fruitiness, structure, and elegance.During production, Col d’Orcia places great emphasis on gentle extraction of color and tannins. Temperature-controlled maceration takes place over approximately 14 to 16 days in wide, shallow stainless-steel tanks. The Brunello then ages for a total of four years, including at least 32 months in large Slavonian and French oak barrels. Before release, the wine undergoes at least twelve months of bottle aging, which contributes to its harmonious development. On the nose, the Col d’Orcia Brunello di Montalcino presents an intense, multi-layered bouquet of ripe cherries and blackberries, accompanied by subtle notes of licorice and vanilla, as well as hints of Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, this Italian red wine is structured and full-bodied, with lively yet ripe tannins and well-integrated acidity. The fruit-forward, long-lasting finish underscores its classic style and excellent aging potential.A versatile pairing for hearty dishes, this Brunello di Montalcino harmonizes particularly well with braised beef, roast lamb, game dishes, and aromatic stews from Tuscan cuisine. It also showcases its qualities when paired with aged hard cheeses. For optimal enjoyment, we recommend serving it at a temperature of about 18 °C in a generously sized red wine glass, allowing its complex aromas to fully develop.
