Christine Rudman is full of praise for the Creation Estate Cool Climate Chenin Blanc in John Platter's Wine Guide. The wine critic awards 93 points (4.5 stars) for this white wine from South Africa. The bouquet of this outstanding Chenin Blanc has a multi-layered aroma of ginger, tomato leaf, apple peel and honey. Notes of lime and quince also enrich the bouquet.The interplay of aromas continues to unfold on the palate: fresh green apple and the creaminess of coconut milk in the background. Delheim Chenin Blanc Wild Ferment 2024

The grapes for the Delheim Chenin Blanc Wild Ferment come from two different blocks or vineyards on the Delheim estate in South Africa. The grapes were harvested at different times. The grapes harvested around 14 days earlier were destemmed and pressed directly. The longer-ripened grapes were pressed with stems, which gives the juice a stronger character. After the juice was separated from the rest of the grapes, it was placed in 500 liter barrels for natural fermentation. This fermentation on the fine lees lasted around 3 months, after which the fermentation was stopped by clarification. No filtering took place in order to preserve the aromatic compounds in the wine.The Delheim Chenin Blanc Wild Ferment has a straw-yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose reveals aromas of peach, apricot and other tropical fruits. A subtle hint of caramel can also be detected. The beautifully balanced acidity and light barrel aromas underpin these impressions on the palate. A citrus note underlines the balance between fruit and acidity.In combination with goat's cheese, smoked salmon or Asian cuisine, this white wine is a real treat.This wine is vegan.

Delheim Iconoclast Versed Vines 2024

The Delheim Iconoclast Versed Vines is an exceptional white cuvée made from Delheim's oldest vineyard blocks in the Simonsberg, Stellenbosch. This Old Vine blend combines Riesling, Chenin Blanc, Muscat de Frontignan, Sauvignon Blanc and Colombar, whose vines were planted between 1984 and 1988 and, as part of the Certified Old Vine Project (OVP), have special expressiveness and terroir character.The vineyards are located on southwest-facing slopes with Oakleaf soils of decomposed granite. The cool climate of the Simonsberg, influenced by Atlantic breezes, ensures slow, even ripening and intense aromas.The grapes were hand-picked in the early hours of the morning and pressed whole to ensure maximum purity. Natural fermentation took place in French oak barrels (15% new wood), after which the wine matured for nine months on the fine lees, giving it depth, texture and complexity. The final cuvée was produced in a small, experimental batch that brings out the potential of old vines and terroir to the full.In the glass, the Delheim Iconoclast Versed Vines shows aromas of white peach and ripe pear, complemented by the delicate, floral Muscat perfume. On the palate, freshness is combined with elegance and a long, harmonious finish on a fresh citrus note.This white wine is ideal with meaty fish or subtly spiced dishes with chicken or pork. Serve at 8-10 °C to enjoy the fine fruit and elegant structure to the full.Only five barrels were produced - an exclusive wine for collectors and connoisseurs.
