Raats Original Chenin Blanc is a classic example of this South African white wine variety when it comes from older vines. In this case, the vines are 35 years old on average. This is the 14th time Raats has offered this wonderful creation, which consistently delivers high quality.

The Raats Original Chenin Blanc has a wonderfully complex aroma of yellow apple, pear, quince, and pineapple, along with subtle hints of green melon and citrus fruits. On the palate, it is delightfully fruity and fresh, with a distinctly mineral finish.

This chenin blanc is made from young vines of five years old, which are perfect for a delicious and refreshing dry wine, with lots of fruit. Only when the stakes get older, the wines get more concentration. By keeping the proceeds low, the wine gets a really nice solid and mineral character. Like the other wines in this series he gets after a fermentation process at low temperature aged for a few months on the yeast cells, which makes it nicely rich and firm of character. A delicious, smooth and crisp Chenin Blanc is the result.

This Cabernet Franc from the Raats estate has a fascinating, exceptionally multi-faceted bouquet, which unites notes of blackberries, red currants, cherries, liquorice, anise and cedar, complemented by a fine spice. The prolonged finish also offers nuances of blueberries, cinnamon and dark chocolate. This wine is the epitome of Cabernet Franc wines, showing a lovely acidity, great freshness and a lot of minerality.The Raats Cabernet Franc comes from vines in Stellenbosch that are between 18 and 25 years old. The pure varietal Cabernet Franc matured for 18 months in French oak casks, of which 25% were new barrels. The remaining 75% matured in second-, third- and fourth-fill barrels (25% each).Enjoy this red wine from South Africa with lamb, beef carpaccio or tuna sashimi.
