This Chardonnay from California matured for 10 months in American and French oak casks, thus wonderfully complementing the intense fruity aromas of the Wente Riva Ranch Chardonnay. Its bouquet unites notes of tropical fruit, crème brûlée, vanilla, oak and lovely toasted aromas. On the palate, this wine from “California’s First Family of Chardonnay” is full-bodied, sumptuous and slightly creamy, with a nice texture, balance and a long finish.

The Wente family has been producing wine for 5 generations. This blend, consisting mainly of Chardonnay and a very small percentage of Gewürztraminer, demonstrates why the winery is one of the leading estates in Californian viticulture.

This high-quality Chardonnay from the Napa Valley is redolent of vanilla, caramel and honeydew melon, along with nuances of freshly baked apple pie. This white wine comes from coastal vineyards. It is very soft on the palate, with a balanced acidity and a rather creamy finish. The interplay of aromas recalls marshmallows roasted over a campfire.The Napa Cellars Chardonnay comes from vineyards located in the southern Napa Valley and Carneros that provide ideal conditions for the Chardonnay grapes. The fogs and cool winds from the San Francisco Bay and Marin allow the grapes to ripen longer, thus developing their special depth of aroma and crisp acidity. This white wine matured for eight months in oak casks, of which more than 90 per cent were French barrels (Almost 25% of them were new barrels.). This white wine was aged for more than 11 months in new French barriques. The grapes for this wine come from the Glen Carlou estate’s oldest Chardonnay vines, which were planted about 30 years ago. Der Neil Ellis Whitehall Chardonnay ist ein Wein, der das Terroir und die Philosophie von Neil Ellis gleichzeitig widerspiegelt. Die Trauben für diesen Chardonnay stammen aus der Region Elgin. Eine Region die für ihre Kühle am Kap bekannt ist und günstigste Bedingungen in Bezug auf Klima und Boden aufweist. Andererseits zeichnet sich der Whitehall Chardonnay durch große Reinheit aus, was durch die akribische Arbeit im Weinberg ermöglicht wird. Die Trauben wurden zu 100% in Barriquefässern fermentiert. Dabei kamen zu 25% neue Fässer zum Einsatz und der Rest wurde in Fässern zweiter und dritter Füllung verarbeitet. Die Reifung erfolgte für 9 Monate in französischen Eichenfässern.Die Farbe des Neil Ellis Whitehall Chardonnay ist strohähnlich mit leichten grünlichen Reflexen. In der Nase finden sich Chardonnay typische Aromen von Nektarinen, Zitrone und verschiedene florale Noten. Am Gaumen prägt eine wunderbare Harmonie und Struktur den Geschmack. Die ausgewogene Säure gleicht den Holzeinsatz sehr schön aus. Der Wein ist komplex und von reicher Textur.Der Neil Ellis Whitehall Chardonnay ist ein hervorragender Essensbegleiter.
