Das Weingut Tenuta Argentiera gehört ohne Zweifel seit Jahren zu den Top-Erzeugern aus der Toskana. Der Ventaglio Rosso Toscana ist das Premiumprodukt des Weingutes. Mit dem Jahrgang 2015 hat Argentiera erstmals einen Lagenwein aus einer ganz besonderen Parzelle vinifiziert. Lediglich 2950 Flaschen in 750 ml Größe und nur 250 Magnumflaschen wurden abgefüllt. Die Basis für diesen 2015er Jahrgang ist die Rebsorte Cabernet Franc. Der Wein wurde mit 15% Cabernet Sauvignon verschnitten. Das Besondere an der Lage des Weinberges ist seine fächerförmige Anordnung der Rebstöcke. Dieses gibt dem Wein auch seinen Namen. (Fächer heißt im Italienischen Ventaglio) Diese Art der Pflanzung führt dazu, dass die Trauben des Weinberges in verschiedene Kategorien eingestellt sind.

Der Ventaglio weist höchste Komplexität und Struktur auf. Seine außergewöhnliche Eleganz bringt die unterschiedlichen Komponenten wunderbar zusammen. Sowohl die Gärung als auch die Reifung fand in teilweise neuen französischen und österreichischen Eichenfässern statt. Das verleiht dem Wein einen robusten und langlebigen Körper.

Die Farbe zeigt ein starkes Rubinrot und die Ränder schimmern in leichtem Violett. Die Nase ist geprägt von viel schwarzer Frucht. Die anfänglichen Aromen von Brombeere und Pflaume gleiten in ein Rauch- und Gewürzaroma über. Am Gaumen präsentiert sich der Ventaglio von Argentiera extrem kraftvoll und vielschichtig. Erdige Töne spielen mit den fein geschliffenen Tanninen. Der Abgang ist wunderbar fruchtig und von zarter Cremigkeit.

Das Weingut Tenuta Argentiera liegt an der malerischen Küste der Nördlichen Maremma, ungefähr 100 Kilometer südwestlich von Florenz in Italien. Es befindet sich in dem kleinen aber bekannten DOC Gebiet Bolgheri. Das Weingut Tenuta Argentiera gehört zur historischen „Tenuta di Donoratico“, welche früher im Besitz der Florentiner Familie Serristori war.

Das Gebiet um das Weingut Tenuta Argentiera war bereits im frühen Mittelalter geprägt von Landwirtschaft und Bergbau. Heute ist das Gut im gemeinsamen Besitz der Brüder Corrado und Marcello Fratini. Von allen Weingütern im DOC Bolgheri Gebiet liegt Argentiera dem Meer am nächsten. Die Weinberge sind vollständig von einem grünen mediterranen Niederwald, der Macchia, umgeben.

Der verschiedenartig beschaffene Boden ist mit den Sorten Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot und Syrah bepflanzt. Diese Rebsorten nehmen im Gebiet von Bolgheri einen typischen Charakter an und erreichen außergewöhnliche Qualitätsstandards.

The Maremma is a characterful landscape in central Italy, which is also known for its excellent wines. Argentiera Bolgheri Superiore from Tenuta Argentiera has a bright ruby red color with violet hues. On the palate, notes of licorice and black currants. This generous, complex wine - consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc - is rich in tannins. It has a wonderful balance with a pleasant acidity. The finish is long lasting - with a remarkable freshness and minerality.The harvested grapes come from the best vineyards of the estate. The grapes were vinified separately; fermentation and maceration took about 25 to 30 days in stainless steel tanks. The wine was then transferred to 225-liter French oak barriques, where its malolactic fermentation was completetd. The further maturation was about 14 months in oak barrels and then at least another 12 months on the bottle.Tenuta Argentiera is located on the picturesque coast of the Northern Maremma, about 100 km southwest of Florence.
