The Waterkloof Circle of Life Red is fresh, fruity and soft on the palate, with a lovely acidity, developing herbal notes and elegantly integrated tannins. Initially, the individual grape varieties matured separately for 18 months in French oak casks, of which only one fifth were new barrels in order to avoid predominant notes of wood. After blending, this wine matured for a further twelve months in wooden casks.The Waterkloof winery has dedicated itself to producing organic wines for several years. The Waterkloof Circle of Life White consists of more than 50% Sauvignon Blanc, one third Chenin Blanc and small percentages of Chardonnay and Semillon. This white wine from South Africa has a wonderfully fresh bouquet hinting of lime, grapefruit and peach. On the palate, this blend is clear and fresh, with a certain creaminess, a lovely acidity and a mineral core. Its stimulating finish is characterised by citrus notes.The Waterkloof estate, located near False Bay, has dedicated itself to producing organic wines for several years. In the beginning, there was criticism of the fact that the quality of the wines was affected by natural viticulture. This is certainly no longer the case. The Waterkloof Circumstance Cabernet Sauvignon has an intense aroma of ripe red fruit. These notes harmonize wonderfully with nuances of graphite. This Chenin Blanc from Waterkloof has a wonderfully fresh aroma of green apple, stone fruit and subtle nuances of honey and almond-marzipan cream. On the palate, the Waterkloof Circumstance Chenin Blanc is full and fresh, with a beautiful, mild acidity. The elegant finish lingers for a long time. The white wine from vineyards not far from False Bay is the perfect accompaniment to a simple cheese platter. The straw-yellow Chenin, produced in natural viticulture, comes from bush vines, i.e. vines without wire frame training. This is also characteristic of Waterkloof's philosophy. The grapes for the Trenz Riesling Kabinett feinherb (off-dry) come from the renowned Johannisberg vineyard, where the grapes can be left longer on the vines than in regions at lower altitudes. This enables the grapes to reach a higher must weight, resulting in more intense sweetness and a finer acidity. The slope gradient of more than 30% also ensures more intense ripening of the grapes.
