Stag’s Leap Artemis Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Winemaker Nicki Pruss wisely and thoughtfully selects the best grapes from the various Napa Valley vineyards and skillfully blends them with grapes from his own Fay vineyard in the Stag's Leap District to create this unique Cabernet Sauvignon blend: with the depth, structure and elegance of the winery's limited single-vineyard wines and at the same time characterized by the individual character of each Napa Valley vineyard, which enriches Artemis with so many, often the smallest facets.The grapes are fermented separately and the wines are then blended into the Artemis Final Blend. The Stag's Leap Artemis Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis matures for 18 months in French oak barrels (55% new), is then bottled and aged for a further six months in the bottle before finally being released for sale.In the glass, Artemis is a deep, dense plum red with ruby highlights. The American red wine enchants with a classic Cabernet bouquet of juicy ripe blackcurrants, blackberries and black cherries, underlaid with earthy notes of moss and forest floor, leather, cedar, herbs (rosemary), licorice, mocha, vanilla and caramel. On the palate, the wine is powerful, intense and firmly structured, yet with the classic elegance of Stag's Leap. The individual and expressive Cabernet Sauvignon has a medium body and is long and harmoniously balanced on the finish, with a spicy aftertaste of blackcurrants, black tea leaves, mocha and licorice.Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt, lent her name to the Artemis Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon: the quintessence of selected grapes, sites and plots in the Napa Valley.

Stag’s Leap FAY Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Most of the grapes for the FAY Cabernet Sauvignon come from the middle and lower plots of the Fay vineyard, where they develop the characteristic red fruit aromas particularly beautifully and intensively. Only a small portion of just under 10% comes from the rows of vines planted to the east, which give the blend a little more power and fullness. All the grapes are vinified separately by parcel, only now are they blended into the FAY blend and left to mature for 18 months in French oak barrels (80% new, 20% single-oak) to develop the unique balance of juicy fruit, power and elegance that characterizes the FAY Cabernet Sauvignon so unmistakably.The Stag's Leap FAY Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep ruby to plum red color. The American red wine delights with its classic FAY bouquet with dense, juicy, fruity aromas of sweet cherries, plums and blackcurrants, elegantly underpinned with finely spiced oak notes, hints of sandalwood, licorice, flowers and forest floor (moss, undergrowth).On the palate, this first-class Cabernet Sauvignon is powerful, juicy, fruity (sweet ripe cherries, plums), with gentle notes of caramel and spices that subtly emphasize the fruity character of the wine.
