The Vina Tondonia Reserva from the legendary López de Heredia family winery is a flagship of classic Rioja tradition. Located near Haro, the estate is one of the oldest and most respected producers in the region - with an uncompromising focus on craftsmanship, time and authenticity.

In the glass, the Vina Tondonia Reserva is a deep red, slightly amber in color. The nose reveals a deep, multi-layered aroma of dried red fruits, tobacco, vanilla, almonds and delicate balsamic notes. On the palate, this dry red wine is finely structured, supple and rich in nuances - with well-integrated acidity, firm tannins and a long, elegant finish. A Rioja with soul and substance.

The Cuvee traditionally consists mainly of Tempranillo, supplemented by Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo. The grapes come from the famous Vina Tondonia vineyard, which stretches along the Ebro river. The ageing process is uncompromisingly traditional: at least six years in old oak barrels, regularly racked by hand, followed by several years of bottle ageing in the cellar - only then is the wine released.

A great accompaniment to lamb, game, mature hard cheese, braised dishes or fine Mediterranean cuisine. Ideal for special occasions and large glasses.

Aber was heißt hier schon Zweitwein. Wer diesen Tempranillo öffnet, merkt schnell, dass dies einmal mehr eine erstklassige Kreation ist. 93+ Punkte in Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate für den Vega Sicilia Macán Clásico 2019 sprechen für sich.Herrlich anregende Düfte von Brombeeren und Pflaumen prägen das Bouquet, wunderbar harmonierend mit Noten von Schokolade und einer feinen Würze. „Reichhaltige, aber raffinierte und vielschichtige Nase, die dunkle Pflaumen, getrocknete Erdbeeren, Oliven, Kakaobohnen und einige herzhafte mediterrane Gewürze entfaltet“, schreibt US-Weinkritiker James Suckling, der für den Macán Clásico 2019 stolze 93 Punkte vergibt.Am Gaumen ist der reinsortige Tempranillo (von mehr als drei Jahrzehnten alten Rebstöcken) trocken und kraftvoll, herrlich saftig und fruchtbetont. Der Wein „hat einen moderaten Alkoholgehalt von 14 %, eine milde Säure und eine gute Frische und Ausgewogenheit“, urteilt Luis Gutiérrez im Wine Advocate. „2019 war ein trockenes und warmes Jahr, in dem sie eine sanfte Weinbereitung durchführten, um harte Tannine zu vermeiden. San Vicente Rioja DOCa - Elegant Tempranillo red wine with depth and structureSince 1991, oenologist Marcos Eguren, scion of a long-established winegrowing family in Rioja, has been producing this grape juice, which is limited to around 60,000 bottles a year. His San Vincente is the modern version of a premium Rioja that combines the best of all Spanish wine worlds. How is this to be understood? The San Vincente preserves the traditions and classic virtues of a Rioja by being aged for 20 months in wooden barrels (90% French and 10% American oak) and then bottled unfiltered. The wine is therefore guaranteed to keep for a long time. However, Marcos Eguren goes far beyond this in his approach to creating a modern and qualitatively outstanding wine; he focuses on a more fruit-driven style than is usual in Rioja.Not just any vines are used, but the noble variety of Tempranillo, namely Tempranillo Peludo, from the company's own 18-hectare Finca la Canoca vineyard, which is located on the best clay and limestone terroir. The grapes are hand-selected twice to ensure that only the best grapes make it into the wine.It is also striking that the wine is vinified with such precision and high quality that vintage fluctuations are hardly noticeable. Meerlust Chardonnay

Im Glas ein heller, lebendiger Platin-Farbton mit grüner Tönung. Komplexes Bouquet von Zitronengras, Limetten, Hafermehl, ausdrucksstarker Mineralität.Am Gaumen ist der südafrikanische Wein von mittlerem Körper, aber mit klarer Säure, Aromen von Kalk, Marzipan, cremige ausgedehnte Eichen-, Apfel- und Birnbaum-Merkmale. Durch eine reine, lineare mineralische Note ergibt sich ein sauberer und langer Abgang.Von Hand gepflückt, als gesamte Partie gepresst und sofort in 300 Liter Fässer aus französischer Eiche gefüllt. Dabei wurden 60% neue Fässer und 40% Fässer, die schon bereits einmal befüllt waren, verwendet. Die Gärung fand in Eiche statt, teils als natürliche und teils als malolaktische Gärung. Die Reifung erfolgte für 12 Monate in Eichenfässern mit gelegentlichem Rühren vor dem Abfüllen in Flaschen.Dieser Weißwein aus der Region Stellenbosch passt perfekt zu gegrilltem Fisch, weißem und rotem Fleisch.

Aalto

There are quite a few people who claim that Aalto wines represent the best of Spanish viticulture in the Ribera del Duero region. Every year, the Aalto wines are once again compared to those produced by the Vega Sicilia estate, and the Aalto wines often win by a nose. For more than 30 years, Mariano García Fernández, the founder of the Aalto winery, was responsible for the wines produced by the Vega Sicilia estate, of which he was the Technical Director. With his own Bodega Aalto, García Fernández wants to achieve the best result without losing respect for the grapes. In creating his wines, he strives for the maximum expression of the terroir, uniting structure and power with elegance and complexity. The Aalto was characterised by a warm winter’s end and an early spring with early flowering. Sufficient rain in summer and a dry autumn led to grapes of an optimal quality. The grapes come mainly from very old vines that are up to 80 years old.The pure varietal Tempranillo (in the Burgos and Valladolid region better known as Tinto Fino) is a cherry red in colour. The wine offers fine notes of spices on the nose, along with light flavours of well-integrated wood. On the palate, the Aalto is wonderfully fresh and dense. Notes of tobacco, coffee and subtle aromas of liquorice reveal the unique style so typical of this Aalto. Due to its soft and round character, the wine can already be enjoyed young. Owing to the soft, enclosing tannins and a good acidity, the Aalto will increase its complexity over the coming years. The ageing of the wine in half new and half used barrels ofAmerican and French oak ensures that it will store well in the bottle. Enjoy the Aalto with a lovely beef roast or simply on its own in front of the fireplace.
