The Bulgarini Metodo Classico 40 Mesi Lugana DOC Brut is an exceptional sparkling wine from the renowned Lugana region on southern Lake Garda. With 40 months of bottle fermentation on the lees, this fine brut is one of the most elaborate and highest quality Lugana sparkling wines. It comes from the Azienda Agricola Bulgarini, which stands for fine, characterful wines with a regional identity.

In the glass, this sparkling wine shines in a brilliant straw yellow with a fine, rising perlage. The nose is multi-layered with aromas of delicate white flowers and orange blossom with notes of apricot and peach. Fresh and spicy on the palate with a silky alcohol note and typical varietal notes of almond and hay. Pleasant suppleness with a lively perlage. Medium to long finish with a fruity aftertaste and a slight bitter note on the finish, reminiscent of the characteristics of the original grape variety.
This sparkling wine is made from the indigenous Turbiana grape (also known as Trebbiano di Lugana). After a first fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the second fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the classic method. The wine remains on the fine lees for over 40 months, which gives it depth, creaminess and aromatic complexity. This long maturation period clearly sets it apart from conventional sparkling wines and puts it in the league of high-quality sparkling wines or even champagne.

The Bulgarini Metodo Classico 40 Mesi is a versatile food companion: excellent with oysters, sushi, scampi, risotto or creamy goat's cheese. It also impresses with style and substance as an aperitif or on festive occasions.

Das Weingut Cantina Bulgarini liegt im Herzen des hügeligen Lugana-Gebiets in der Nähe der Ortschaft Pozzolengo, südlich vom Gardasee. Das Gebiet in der Provinz Brescia ist bekannt für exzellente Weine. Seit drei Generationen betreibt die Familie Bulgarini um den heutigen Weingutsbesitzer Fausto Bulgarini das Weingut. Das Anwesen und die Weinberge liegen inmitten der für diese Region typischen Moränenhügel. Hier herrscht ein besonderes Mikroklima sowie eine außergewöhnliche Bodenbeschaffenheit.

Das Weinbaugebiet Lugana erhielt seine Prägung in der Zeit des Quartärs. Die Böden sind gekennzeichnet durch eine sehr feine Bodenstruktur. Sie sind stark tonig und zuweilen auch mit Schlick durchsetzt. Das Tal des Gardasees und der umliegenden Gegend wurde durch mächtige Gletscher geformt. Die Böden bieten also ideale Voraussetzungen für charaktervolle Weine. Die Familie Bulgarini besitzt 20 Hektar Weinberge. Ausschließlich aus eigenen Trauben stellt Bulgarini seinen Lugana DOC, seinen Garda Chiaretto DOC sowie einen Merlot Garda DOC und Cabernet Garda DOC her. Aus dem Abenteuer „Bruno Bulgarini“ ist heute ein modernes Unternehmen geworden, das komplexe Produktionsverfahren mit besonderer Aufmerksamkeit für Qualität einsetzt.

Im Südosten des Piemont ist die Heimat des Gavi. Dieser herrlich animierende, mineralische Weißwein aus der autochthonen Rebsorte Cortese zählt schon lange zu den Aushängeschildern des italienischen Weinbaus. Der Bruno Broglia Gavi di Gavi hat seinen Anteil daran. Blassgelb mit grünlichen Reflexen schimmert der Gavi im Glas. Das Bouquet des Bruno Broglia Gavi di Gavi ist intensiv fruchtig. James Suckling vergibt 90 Punkte für den italienischen Weißwein und schreibt von Noten von Zitrone und Honig, geschnittener Papaya und Ananas. Dazu kommen Nuancen von Wildblumen, auch von Nuss und Holunder. Am Gaumen ist der Wein trocken und elegant, mit mittlerem Körper und einer samtigen Textur. Das Aromenspiel ist eindrucksvoll. Aromen von pinker Grapefruit, Mandeln und gebackenem Apfel im feinen Zusammenspiel mit einer tollen Würze. Dazu kommen die feine Säure und mineralische Feuerstein-Noten. Das Finale hallt noch lange nach.Ertragsarme Reben, die zum Teil deutlich älter als 50 Jahre alt sind, bilden die Grundlage für den Bruno Broglia Gavi di Gavi. Die Trauben aus der Gemeinde Gavi stammen von Südlagen mit kalkhaltigen, marmorierten Untergründen und werden akribisch von Hand gelesen. Der Weißwein wird im Edelstahltank ausgebaut.
