Alvarez y Diez Valmoro Rueda Verdejo Barrica

The Valmoro Verdejo 6 Meses en Barrica from the Alvarez y Diez winery is produced according to the principle of "understanding wine as a work of art, from the earth to the glass". The winery is located in the Spanish wine-growing region of Rueda, in a hilly landscape at an altitude of 600 to 800 meters. The gravelly soils give the wine its typical mineral notes. The region's microclimate allows the grapes to be harvested in the cool morning hours, which preserves the natural acidity and fresh fruit aromas of the Verdejo.

The white wine matures for six months in barriques, which gives it a harmonious depth, subtle wood tones and a balanced acidity/alcohol ratio. Before release, the wine is left to mature in the bottle to fully develop its aromas.

In the glass, the Valmoro Verdejo 6 Meses en Barrica is a bright straw yellow. Intense aromas of lime, pear, pineapple and fennel unfold on the nose, complemented by green herbs and subtle toasted oak. On the palate, the wine presents itself with ripe tropical fruit, fresh acidity and mineral notes, accompanied by balanced oak flavors. The finish is long, elegant and harmonious.

Serve the Valmoro Verdejo at 8-10 °C. It is an excellent accompaniment to grilled meat, poultry, veal and light Mediterranean dishes or tapas.

Die Weine aus der Region Rueda in Spanien haben in den letzten Jahren große Aufmerksamkeit erzeugt. Dabei haben sie bereits eine lange Geschichte vorzuweisen, denn bis zum 16. Jahrhundert wurden Verdejo-Weine aus der Rueda am spanischen Königshof ausgeschenkt. Diese Weine stehen für prägnante Exotik-Aromen und sind besonders bei jüngeren Kunden äußerst beliebt. Die Weinberge liegen in einer Höhe von 600 bis 800 Meter rund um das Dorf Rueda. Die Böden sind kalksteinhaltig, auf denen die Rebsorten Verdejo, Sauvignon Blanc und Viura perfekt gedeihen.

Juan de Benito, der die Bodegas Alvarez y Díez leitet, hat einen frischen und fruchtigen Stil entwickelt. Die Familie Benito hat einiges an Geschichte in Kastiliens Weinproduktion vorzuweisen. Der Vater von Juan de Benito gründete 1977 die heutige Bodega, die Juan seit 1992 führt. Das Weingut verfügt über 100 Hektar Weinberge.
