The Castellana winery cultivates a vineyard called Cantarranas, from which the grapes for this refreshing wine come.

The Cantarranas Rueda Verdejo DO has a light, straw-yellow color in the glass. Its citrus notes are accompanied by hints of elderberry and tropical fruit. The vegan wine has a tangy acidity, is full-bodied and lean.

Around 200 years ago, a small stream ran through the town where Valladolid is now a sociable meeting place with many bars, but it only carried water when it had just rained and then dammed up to form a small pond. Frogs would settle there and croak in a variety of pitches. This explains the name Cantarranas = frog song.
And if you drink enough of this wine, you can still hear the frogs today.

Die Agricola Castellana ist ein Zusammenschluss verschiedener Weingüter. Hauptsächlich werden hier die Marken Cuatro Rayas, Rueda Vinos und Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla y León vertrieben. Die Ursprünge der Weinkellerei gehen auf das Jahr 1935 zurück. Die Kellerei Castellana bewirtschaftet auch einen Weinberg namens Cantarranas, an dessen Hängen die Rebsorte Verdejo vortrefflich gedeiht. Geleitet wird die Agricola Castellana vom Winzer Angel Calleja. Direkt nach seinem Abschluss an der Hochschule in Madrid übernahm er das Zepter in der Weinkellerei. Er ist heute einer der bekanntesten und renommiertesten Winzer Spaniens.

The Telmo Rodriguez Basa DO Rueda has an enticingly fruity and spicy bouquet offering notes of passion fruit, melon, citrus fruit and pears, along with nuances of fennel and hints of minerals. This blend, consisting of Verdejo and Viura, is elegant, fresh and very harmonious on the palate, with a wonderful texture and a lovely, mineral finish.The grapes for this wonderfully accessible white wine from the Rueda region come from bush vines that are cultivated without wire trellis training systems. The Telmo Rodriguez Basa DO Rueda is not only a terrace wine that is lovely on its own, but is ideal with Spanish omelettes and fried white fish as well.In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the wine, special labels were designed by different artists. Der trockene Mantel Blanco stammt aus der Region Rueda und besteht zu 100% aus der Rebsorte Verdejo.Die Reben des Mantel Blanco kommen ausschließlich aus eigener Produktion von dem Weingut Alvarez y Diez. Die Ernte findet immer nachts statt. Um die Eigenschaften der Trauben zu bewahren, werden traditionelle Techniken mit modernen Maschinen kombiniert.Im Glas zeigt sich der Mantel Blanco strohgelb mit grünen Reflexen. Das Bouquet hat angenehme Aromen von Kernobst und Zitrusfrüchten, wobei die Zitrusfrüchte im Hintergrund mitspielen.
