The family-run Rainbow's End wine estate in Stellenbosch, South Africa, stands for authentic, handcrafted wines with character. The pure Cabernet Franc is one of the estate's flagship wines and impressively expresses the depth and elegance of this grape variety.

In the glass, the wine is a deep, dark purple color. Intense aromas of dark berries, roasted hazelnuts and fine oak unfold on the nose. On the palate, it delights with rich fruit, a juicy, supple texture and pleasantly soft tannins. The elegant balance between fruit, spice and wood makes this Cabernet Franc a particularly harmonious representative of its kind.

The grapes come from two carefully selected clones - one South African and one French - which give the wine structure and complexity. After fermentation, the Cabernet Franc matured for twelve months in French oak barrels, almost half of which were new. The wine was naturally clarified and refined through two gentle removals during the ageing process.

A powerful but accessible Cabernet Franc with ageing potential: already a pleasure now, it will gain in complexity and depth over the next five to eight years.

This red wine goes particularly well with grilled lamb, braised beef or hearty mushroom dishes. The ideal drinking temperature is 16-18°C.

The grapes come from the cooler sites of Walker Bay, where the grape variety ripens optimally thanks to the fresh sea breezes and develops its typical aromas.All the grapes were carefully harvested by hand and fermented with pure yeasts after selection. During the five-day fermentation, the must was pumped over the skins three to five times a day to gently extract color, aromas and tannins. After racking and malolactic fermentation, the wine matured for 12 to 14 months in 225-liter French oak barrels, giving it additional complexity and fine wood notes.
