Kleindal

Barista Pinotage
A South African taste experience of intense, rich coffee and chocolate aromas with nuances of ripe mulberries, plums and cherries. This dry red wine is also the perfect accompaniment to food. It pairs very well with dark meat, creamy casseroles and even intense desserts. Also a great accompaniment to blue cheese or Belgian chocolate. Vinified ready to drink from the start for immediate enjoyment. We recommend 18 °C as the ideal drinking temperature. The Barista Pinotage from the Val De Vie vineyard is made from 100% Pinotage grapes from the Robertson region. The grapes were picked at optimum ripeness in mid-February and divided into different batches and treated in different ways.Certain batches were treated by short heating to optimize color and then returned to the skins for alcoholic fermentation. Other batches were pasteurized and immediately fermented on oak to achieve the dark, rich coffee flavors. Still other batches were fermented conventionally on the skins and pumped over several times during alcoholic fermentation and racked into French oak to complete fermentation. All batches were stabilized by malolactic fermentation in French oak.

Beyerskloof Diesel Pinotage
Diesel Pinotage is certainly an unusual name for a wine. However, it quickly becomes clear when you know the story behind it. Diesel was the name of Beyers Truters, owner of Beyerskloof, dog and a beloved and loyal, constant companion of his master. The dog was not only to be found in the vineyard, but also in the cellar or next to the desk. So it was clear for Beyers Truter to name his best wine after his "best" friend. The grapes for the Beyerskloof Diesel Pinotage come from bushvine vines. This type of cultivation is frequently used in South Africa, especially for Pinotage. The fermentation process took place over 5 days in open barrels at an average temperature of 26 degrees Celsius. The mash was pressed down every 2 hours. Malolactic fermentation then took place in stainless steel tanks. New French oak barrels were used for the 21-month maturation. Of the 300 barrels filled, only 20 barrels were ultimately selected for the Diesel Pinotage. The color of the Beyerskloof Diesel Pinotage is deep purple. The bouquet is characterized by complex blackberry aromas and dark fruits, surrounded by an elegant cedar wood note. The palate reveals a fine but complex structure of black and red fruits. A truly great red wine that impresses with an excellent balance of fruit and wood. A wine with outstanding potential that will continue to give pleasure in 10 years or more. The ideal accompaniment to spicy Indian dishes or a well-matured rump steak. Beyerskloof Diesel is probably one of the best Pinotage from the Cape.

Spier Signature Pinotage
The Pinotage vines from the Spier vineyard are planted in rows facing north-east to south-east and are therefore never exposed to the bright afternoon sun. This prevents the grapes from overheating and developing overly spicy aromas. The proximity to the sea, which is only about 8 kilometers away, is also helpful. A low harvest of 50 hectolitres per hectare gives the grapes plenty of intensity and the wine has enough strength and depth to mature in wooden barrels. Fermentation at no more than 25 °C ensures plenty of fruit. 40% of the wine matures in French or American oak barrels, giving this Pinotage a pleasant vanilla flavor without losing the fruit.Deep cherry red in the glass, the bouquet smells of delicious fresh fruit, cherries and coconut. There are also various spices such as pepper, vanilla, leather and tobacco notes. On the palate, a fresh and refined taste: soft and creamy, with lots of cherry, raspberry, tobacco and a hint of smokiness, robust in the aftertaste, beautiful and spicy. The Spier Signature Pinotage is delicious with a classic burger, crispy roast turkey, roast suckling pig with fruity barbecue sauce or roast eggplants. Our chocolate tip: Try a white chocolate with coconut notes with this South African red wine.
