Die Familie Basson gibt dem Wein ihren Namen. Auf dessen Farm werden die Reben gepflegt und bearbeitet. Nach dem Vergären in offenen Edelstahltanks wird der Wein für 14 Monate in Fässern aus französischer Eiche der 2. und 3. Füllung und dann für weitere 24 Monate in der Flasche gereift. Der Cape of Good Hope Basson Pinotage duftet nach einer Gewürzmischung und dunkler Pflaume mit einem Hauch von Leder. Den Gaumen umgeben interessante Aromen von Gewürznelken und pikanten Rauchnoten. Dieser Rotwein ist herrlich weich und mit sanften Tanninen ausgestattet. Das Finale zeigt sich fest strukturiert und langanhaltend.

Der Cape of Good Hope Basson Pinotage ist geradezu gemacht für ein pikantes Essen vom Grill oder einen Wildschweinbraten.

Barista Pinotage
A South African taste experience of intense, rich coffee and chocolate aromas with nuances of ripe mulberries, plums and cherries.This dry red wine is also the perfect accompaniment to food. It pairs very well with dark meat, creamy casseroles and even intense desserts. Also a great accompaniment to blue cheese or Belgian chocolate. Vinified ready to drink from the start for immediate enjoyment. We recommend 18 °C as the ideal drinking temperature.The Barista Pinotage from the Val De Vie vineyard is made from 100% Pinotage grapes from the Robertson region. The grapes were picked at optimum ripeness in mid-February and divided into different batches and treated in different ways.Certain batches were treated by short heating to optimize color and then returned to the skins for alcoholic fermentation. Other batches were pasteurized and immediately fermented on oak to achieve the dark, rich coffee flavors. Still other batches were fermented conventionally on the skins and pumped over several times during alcoholic fermentation and racked into French oak to complete fermentation. All batches were stabilized by malolactic fermentation in French oak.

From the flagship range of Anthonij Rupert from Franschhoek in South Africa, we present the Optima. A cuvée made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. It is therefore a so-called Bordeaux blend.A dark purple color in the glass already gives an idea of the complexity of this red wine. The nose is seductive and dense. The Anthonij Rupert Optima has a wonderful aroma of pepper and dark fruit. The palate is wonderfully elegant and smooth, with notes of blueberry, cassis, cedar wood, violets, cocoa and cigar box. The velvety texture with fine, polished tannins gives the wine a special sophistication. The oak aromas are always harmoniously integrated. The Optima spends 20 months in barrique barrels, which gives it a rich aroma.A special red wine in every respect. Anthonij Rupert Optima is best enjoyed with grilled steak or an Indian curry dish.

Die Trauben für den Protea Chardonnay vom Weingut Anthonij Rupert stammen aus verschiedenen Weingärten in Franschhoek und Robertson. Die einzelnen Partien wurden separat vergoren und zum Teil in französischer Eiche ausgebaut, um dem Wein eine höhere Komplexität und Struktur zu geben. Am Ende wurden alle Partien gemischt und abgefüllt. Noten der Blutorange konkurrieren mit Aromen von Grapefruit und Zitrone in der Nase. Auch am Gaumen findet sich beim Protea Chardonnay die Spritzigkeit von Zitrusfrüchten wieder. Die Saftigkeit einer Blutorange und von Pampelmuse ist im Mund deutlich wahrzunehmen. Eine frische Textur macht den Weißwein herrlich saftig und ausgereift. Passend zu allen kräftigen Salaten oder genießen Sie den Protea Chardonnay zur thailändischen Küche.

The grapes for the Anthonij Rupert Protea Shiraz come from vineyards in the Darling region. A region in South Africa with predominantly sandy, clay and loamy soils. Soils on which the Shiraz grape thrives particularly well.The red wine has an intense dark red color. It smells wonderfully of ripe plums, black cherries, spices and dark earth. Complemented by a delicate smoky note, these aromas also continue on the palate. The taste of Protea Shiraz is reminiscent of blueberries, plums, cloves, aniseed and a subtle hint of fire. The soft, juicy tannins give the wine good concentration and length. The structure is soft and accessible.The Protea Shiraz is also an excellent accompaniment to food. It complements pâtés, charcuterie or ham wonderfully.

The Anthonij Rupert Syrah comes from strictly selected vines from the Franschhoek Valley in South Africa. A pre-selection is made as early as the hand-picking stage. Only the best grapes find their way into the wine. Both the fermentation and the subsequent maturation, which lasts an average of 21 months, take place in French oak barrels. The Anthonij Rupert Syrah was then bottled unfiltered and matured for a further 2 years. The red wine has a wonderful aroma of violets, plums, raspberries and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is amazingly complex but extremely multi-faceted. Beautiful fruity notes are in harmony with spicy notes and a gently integrated tannin structure. The finish is also juicy, balanced and convincingly long.For a long evening in front of the fireplace or as an accompaniment to a festive meal, you will hardly find anything better. Open the wine at least two hours before drinking and give it some time to develop in the glass.
