In John Platter's Wine Guide, South Africa's wine bible, Angela Lloyd awards 90 points to the Bouchard Finlayson Crocodile's Lair Kaaimansgat Chardonnay.

The bouquet is characterized by tropical notes of pineapple and lemongrass. There is also the scent of lime and crisp green apples. The bouquet is rounded off by subliminal notes of brioche and vanilla.

On the palate, this white wine from South Africa is dry, with a soft texture and great balance. The aromas are dominated by ripe, sweet tropical fruit and a noticeable acidity. Finishes with the finest roasted aromas.

The grapes for the Crocodile's Lair Kaaimansgat Chardonnay come from the Elandskloof Valley, around 80 kilometers north of the winery itself. here, 700 meters above sea level, the Chardonnay grapes ripen later than usual in the Cape.
