The Buitenverwachting Chardonnay from the Constantia region (South Africa) is a powerful and elegant white wine that impressively reflects the special climatic conditions of this cool coastal location. The contact with the fresh winds of the Atlantic and the mineral granite soils give the wine a distinctive freshness and fine structure.

In the glass, the Chardonnay is a sparkling golden yellow. The nose seduces with notes of citrus fruits such as lemon and grapefruit, exotic fruits such as mango and pineapple as well as a hint of flint, vanilla and gently toasted wood. The interplay of freshness, fruit and elegantly integrated oak spice makes this wine authentic and multi-layered.

On the palate, the white wine is full-bodied and creamy, balanced by a lively acidity. Ageing in French oak - typically several months in barriques - provides additional depth and a persistent texture without overpowering the freshness.

At a drinking temperature of 10-12°C, Buitenverwachting Chardonnay is an ideal accompaniment to roast chicken, cold salmon, rich vegetables or soft cheese. It also unfolds its elegance particularly impressively on its own.
