Saint Clair Omaka Reserve Chardonnay 2024

With its pale golden color and intense and complex aromas of white peach and honeysuckle, the Saint Clair Omaka Reserve Chardonnay impresses. There are also hints of savory bacon and rounding oak notes.Taste: A wonderfully full-bodied and rich white wine with complex stone fruit aromas and a hint of spice. Underlying savory oak notes and subtle yeasty characters add to the complexity. On the palate, it is elegant and full with firm acidity and a long finish.Aging potential:Perfect for immediate enjoyment. This Chardonnay can age wonderfully with careful storage in the bottle and is still perfectly drinkable four years after bottling.Winemaking: The grapes were carefully hand-picked and pressed whole to ensure that all the defining terroir characteristics and fruit flavors were retained. The wine was fermented in 100 percent American oak (50 percent in new oak barrels, 25 percent in second-fill barrels and 25 percent in third-fill barrels). Selected yeast strains were used for fermentation. The wine then underwent malolactic fermentation and matured on the lees for ten months with regular pumping over. Only the best barrels from each batch were selected to make the final blend.Perfect with salmon, strong cream sauces or roast chicken.

Saint Clair Family Estate was founded by Neal and Judy Ibbotson, viticultural pioneers in Marlborough since 1978, and has since become an internationally acclaimed brand, synonymous with distinctive quality wine from the north of New Zealand's South Island.This Saint Clair Origin Chardonnay was harvested at optimum ripeness from vineyards in the Marlborough region. Each site was deliberately selected to give the wine a special complexity. A delicious, fruit-driven wine with ripe peach, nashi pear, spice and hazelnuts with a long finish. Dieser Standort hat fruchtbare, tiefgründige Schlickböden. Nach der Ernte wird der Saft sofort abgepresst, sodass der Kontakt mit der Schale gering bleibt.
