The Poggio delle Faine Rosso IGT is regularly awarded prizes by specialist magazines and is always one of the best wines of its vintage. For their masterpiece, the winemakers of the young, successful Poggio delle Faine winery have combined selected Sangiovese grapes with Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties. The vineyards are located in an almost perfect south-facing position, so that the vines are pampered by warm sunshine all year round. This is also reflected in the Tuscan: it pampers the nose with a multi-layered aroma of juicy black cherry and spicy coffee. Maturation in oak barrels further enriches the bouquet with fine, vanilla wood aromas.

The Poggio delle Faine Rosso IGT is balanced and mild on the palate. It also has a long-lasting, harmonious finish.
Serve this wine at a drinking temperature of 16 to 18 °C with pasta with tomato sauce, roasts in a dark sauce and game specialties. It is also a good accompaniment to lamb or a platter of hard and soft cheeses.

Poggio delle Faine

„Poggio delle Faine" ist ein noch recht junges, dafür aber schon mit zahlreichen Preisen und Auszeichnungen dekoriertes Wein-Projekt. Es entstammt dem familiengeführten Weingut Cantine Minini. Nach Ende des Ersten Weltkrieges realisierte der Landwirt Francesco Minini seinen Traum und gründete 1920 im ländlichen Verolanuova bei Brescia seine Kellerei. Seine Leidenschaft für den Wein war der Grund, dass sich die Cantine Minini etablierte und weiter expandierte. Mithilfe seiner Söhne Franco und Battista gelang es der Familie, die Kellerei bis zu Beginn der 60er-Jahre durch schwierige Zeiten zu führen. Heute wird die Cantine Minini von Mario Minini geführt.

Zu Beginn dieses Jahrtausends entstand die Idee zum „Poggio delle Faine“, eines hochwertigen, geschmackvollen Weins aus dem Herzen des Chianti Classico-Gebiets. Nach sorgfältigen Auswahl fand Mario Minini im kleinen Ort Cerreto Guidi für seinen Poggio delle Faine ein Weingut als den perfekten Partner für seine Vision. Die Rebanlagen befinden sich auf einer Höhe zwischen 200 und 400 Metern und sind fast ausschließlich nach Süden ausgerichtet. Die hohe Intensität der Sonnenstrahlen bei gleichzeitig kühlenden Winden begünstigt die Entwicklung der Sangiovese- und Cabernet Sauvignon-Trauben. In modernen Kelleranlagen der Cantine Minini reifen die Jungweine über zehn bis zwölf Monate in Barrique-Fässern.
