Paolo Manzone

Batasiolo Barbera d'Alba DOC
The Batasiolo Barbera d'Alba shimmers ruby red with violet reflections in the glass. This red wine from Piedmont has a wonderfully stimulating aroma of plums and cherries. Floral notes enrich the bouquet (violets and roses). Subtle, spicy notes complete the bouquet. On the palate, this red wine from Piedmont is full-bodied and dry, with a pleasantly mild acidity, lots of fruitiness (sweet, black fruits), nuances of chocolate and a great freshness. The finish is pleasantly soft. The grapes for the Batasiolo Barbera D'Alba are fermented in stainless steel tanks. Around 40 percent of the wine matures for a year in French oak barriques, the rest in large Slavonian oak barrels. After blending, the wine is left to rest for a good two months in stainless steel tanks.Enjoy the Batasiolo Barbera d'Alba with typical Italian dishes. For example, it goes very well with an antipasti platter or pasta dishes (with Bolognese or a delicate, spicy tomato sauce). Also wonderful with pizza.

This impressive wine from Piedmont offers intense aromas of cherries, ripe dark fruit and dried fruit on the nose. On the palate, this complex wine is powerful, with great density and noticeable but soft and beautifully integrated tannins.
