On the nose, this impressive wine from the Piedmont region offers intense aromas of cherries, ripe, dark fruit and dried fruit as well. This complex wine is powerful on the palate, with a great density and noticeable but soft and nicely integrated tannins. Using the traditional Appassimento method, the grapes ripen beyond the ripeness date and dry on the vines. They shrivel almost to the size of a raisin, thus gaining aromas, acidity and a higher sugar concentration, leading to exceptional wines with fine fragrances recalling raisins.
