The San Marzano Edda Bianco is an outstanding white wine produced in the sun-drenched Salento region of Apulia, Italy, by the renowned Cantine San Marzano winery. The winery uses the word Edda, translated from the Salento dialect as "she", to describe the feminine and sensual side of the wine.It is made from the Chardonnay grape and various indigenous Apulian grape varieties. The Edda Bianco presents an impressive range of aromas dominated by fresh flowers, peach and a light vanilla note. The straw-yellow wine with golden reflections is delicate, mineral and wonderfully refreshing on the palate. Aged for four months in French oak barrels, the Edda is opulent but retains a beautiful balance. Production area: Selected vineyards of Neviera and Casa Rossa, located in San Marzano district. The soil is mainly “terra rossa”, with a fine texture and generally a calcareous undergound with a few emerging rocks. The well-known redness of these soils is due to the presence of iron oxides. The climate is characterised by high temperatures all year round, very few rainfalls and a wide difference of temperature between night and day, which has a nice influence on the quality of grapes. The Since 1974 Primitivo di Manduria DOP fulfills all the requirements that connoisseurs have for a genuine Primitivo from Apulia. The Italian red wine is deep and intense, with a ripe variety of aromas that it was able to develop during barrel ageing.Even though the Primitivo grape enjoys its Californian fame under the name Zinfandel, the vine is as Italian as it gets. In its country of origin, it displays a mature fullness, as in the Since 1974 Primitivo di Manduria DOP from the Tenute Eméra winery, and is matured for over a year in French oak barrels.The ageing process delights the palate with typical notes of wood, leather and tobacco, which are wonderfully contrasted by the fruit. This gives the tannins a very soft face, which unfolds particularly pleasantly in the long finish.Since 1974, this wine has been bottled by the Tagaro winery since the 2022 vintage, previously by Tenute Eméra.This authentic wine from Italy unfolds its full depth with game, roasts or flavorful pasta dishes. The drinking temperature should be 17-18 °C. This semi-dry wine is vegan and should ideally be decanted.

Tagaro Cinquenoci Primitivo Puglia IGP 2023

The Tagaro Cinquenoci Primitivo Puglia IGP is a red wine full of character from the southern Italian region of Apulia, produced by Masseria Tagaro. This wine is made from 30-year-old Primitivo vines that thrive on chalky, red soils in Salento.After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and first undergo cold maceration at 4-5°C for 48 hours. This is followed by fermentation with selected yeasts and a longer maceration period. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for six months in oak barrels and a further three months in the bottle.In the glass, the Cinquenoci has a deep red color with violet reflections. The bouquet is intense and persistent, characterized by notes of ripe plum jam and blackcurrant. On the palate, it is full-bodied and balanced, with the sweetness of ripe fruit perfectly intertwined with a rich tannin structure.This Primitivo harmonizes perfectly with hearty pasta dishes, stews and red meat-based main courses. Serve at a temperature of 18-20°C to develop its full spectrum of aromas.
