The name "Nik Weis Sankt Urbans-Hof Schiefer Riesling" already reveals the special nature of this Riesling from Nik Weis. The Nik Weis Schiefer Riesling comes from vines that grow either on soils with Devonian slate, also known as black slate, in the Mosel region or on soils from the Saar with reddish slate. The interplay of these two terroirs is what makes this Riesling so unique.

Wonderfully clear in the glass, the nose reveals beautiful citrus fruit and notes of ripe yellow fruit. This dry white wine shows an incredible minerality, which particularly expresses the terroir with its salty touch. The taste of melon and pear stands out clearly on the palate. A tangy acidity and a pleasant residual sweetness give the Nik Weis Schiefer Riesling a beautiful complexity. The finish is superbly spicy, allowing the vegan wine to linger for a long time. An all-round elegant wine.

It pairs beautifully with oriental cuisine or light blue cheese.

Der Sankt Urbans-Hof im Mosel-Saar-Gebiet wurde 1947 von Nicolaus Weis gegründet. Sein Enkel Nik Weis trat 1997 in das elterliche Weingut ein und führt seit 2002 gemeinsam mit seiner Frau Daniela Weis, die selbst Winzertochter und diplomierte Kauffrau ist, das Weingut.

Die Rebfläche vom Weingut Sankt Urbans-Hof erstreckt sich über drei Mosel- und drei Saarlagen. Es gibt drei Grand-Cru-Lagen (Leiwener Laurentiuslay, Ockfener Bockstein, Piesporter Goldtröpfchen) und drei Ortslagen (Wiltinger, Saarfeilser, Mehringer), auf denen Nik Weis und sein Team ausdrucksstarke Weine erzeugen.

Das Weingut Sankt Urbans-Hof gehört mit einer Rebfläche von 35 Hektar zu den größten und wichtigsten des Mosel-Saar-Anbaugebietes. Der klare und qualitätsbewusste Stil wurde bereits mehrfach prämiert. Im März 2010 erhielt Nik Weis bei den "Feinschmecker" Wine Awards die Auszeichnung für die Wein-Kollektion des Jahres für das Weingut Sankt Urbans-Hof. Das Weingut exportiert auch in internationale Märkte und ist bekannt für Spitzen-Rieslinge.

Der Ockfener Bockstein ist eine Lage in einem Seitental der Saar. Diese Lage zeichnet sich durch besonders hohe Temperaturunterschiede zwischen Tag und Nacht aus, da am Tag praktisch kein Schatten die Trauben trifft. Der Boden besteht aus geröllartigen grauem Schiefer, was dem Wein eine unglaubliche Würze verleiht. Durch einen oberhalb des Weinbergs befindlichen Wald wird immer ausreichend Wasser gespeichert, sobald auch in trockenen Perioden eine optimale Versorgung der Reben sichergestellt ist. In der Nase viel Zitrusfrüchte und eine Menge an floralen Noten. Ergänzt durch Aromen von Flieder, Veilchen, Melone und einem Hauch mineralische Note. Der Gaumen ist der Weißwein cremig und weich mit moderater Säure. Die überreife Frucht tritt deutlich hervor und macht den Nik Weis Bockstein GG intensiv und elegant zu gleich. Der lange, feinwürzige Abgang wird unterstützt von einer zarten Süße. Ein Wein markant und geschliffen mit einer außergewöhnlichen Mineralität.Probieren Sie den Bockstein GG von Nik Weis zu einer Käseplatte, Hummer mit scharfer Mayonnaise oder Züricher Geschnetzeltes.
