Der La Sirène de Giscours Margaux ist Zweitwein des weltbekannten Château Giscours aus Margaux besteht aus 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot und 5% Cabernet Franc. Ein wunderbarer Margaux-Verführer, der von 30% Neufassanteil beim Ausbau profitiert hat.

Ein dunkles Granatrot im Glas, die Nase fein würzig mit dunklen Beeren, überleitend in ein Zedern-Bouquet, schwarzen Johannisbeeren und etwas gerösteten Noten. Der Körper des trockenen Weins ist rund, tief und im langen Abgang klingen würzige Noten mit.

Diesen französichen Rotwein bitte mindestens eine Stunde vor dem Genuss dekantieren; auch eine weitere Kellerreifung von mehreren Jahren ist selbstverständlich möglich. Er begleitet dann ganz wunderbar Geflügelgerichte, Wild und reife Käsesorten.

Die Bewertungen sprechen für sich: James Suckling: 92-93, Neal Martin 89-91; Robert Parker meint, es sei der beste Sirène de Giscours überhaupt.

Die Familien Moulin und Cathiard haben 2014 Beauregard übernommen und die Qualität nochmals auf ein höheres Niveau gehoben. Dem Benjamin de Beauregard kommt dabei bei der Weinbereitung die selbe Sorgfalt zu, wie dem Grand Vin. Die Ernte wird auf Beauregard vollständig manuell ausgeführt. Der Benjamin wird im Holzfass ausgebaut, mit 30% Neufassanteil. Er ist von rubinroter Farbe. Die Nase umschmeicheln milde Düfte von dunklen Kirschen, Paprika, Karamell, Pflaumen und Kräutern. Am Gaumen überwiegen vor allem die Früchte und die feine Struktur imponiert. Der Abgang ist ebenfalls durch dunkle Früchte charakterisiert. Der Wein zeigt eine schöne Balance und Ausgeglichenheit. Er ist jetzt bereits nach etwas dekantieren trinkreif, bleibt aber durchaus noch 8 Jahren auf dem Höhepunkt. Köstlich in Kombination mit rotem Fleisch, Wildgerichten und Käse.

This wine shows an excellent fullness, majestic aromas and an outstanding balance among all components, giving it ideal potential for prolonged ageing. The Zenato Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a sensational masterpiece of taste and fragrance. The Amarone has an impressive elegance, ripe fruit and an inviting bouquet. It is ruby-red in colour and shows fine hints of aromatic herbs. On the palate, the wine is impressively powerful, with warm, rich nuances of wild cherry and chocolate. The Amarone is a little jewel in the range of Zenato wines. It is made of the excellent Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta and Croatina grapes, which come from the Valpolicella Classico region from the municipalities of Sant'Ambrogio, Negrar, Pedemonte, Fumane, San Pietro in Cariano and Marano. The grapes are harvested and picked by hand and subsequently dried for a period of three months. As a consequence, much of the liquid evaporates, resulting in berries that are extremely rich in sugar. After fermentation, the wine matured for 30 months in oak casks and for a further 12 months in the bottle.

The 2016 vintage produced premium wines in nearly the entire Bordelais region. The 2016 Greteau Médeville is impressive proof of this as well.Since 1826 and in the meantime through seven generations, members of the Médeville family have been producing wines in the Bordeaux region. The Médeville family owns an additional six estates which they operate with an organic approach, protecting the environment to the greatest extent possible, with minimal use of chemicals in its vineyards. The Gréteau Médeville estate is one of its showpieces, covering an area of only 22.24 acres.A restrained use of wood underlines the fruity and well-balanced character of this wonderful, seductive wine.The Château Greteau Médeville Bordeaux Supérieur AOP 2016 is a light, clear garnet red in colour. On the nose, it offers intense aromas of cherries, black currants and spices. It is very velvety on the palate, showing lots of fruit, notes of amarena cherries and a full body. The finish is long and fruity. The fine and already well-integrated tannins underpin the wine’s structure. We recommend decanting the wine a while before drinking it. It can already be enjoyed now but will further improve over at least five more years.This Bordeaux is a wonderful everyday wine and lovely to enjoy on its own. It is also a good accompaniment to grilled dishes, meat pies, game, duck, quails or ripe cheeses. You won’t find a better bargain for Bordeaux!
