Château La Pensée in the Lalande-Pomerol appellation is a top achievement from this winery, which has been performing at the level of an insider tip for years. In terms of quality, the wines are in no way inferior to the grape juices from the more renowned Pomerol appellation and once again represent a leap into another league.Harvesting by hand, optimal grape ripening through vendages vertes and fermentation in concrete tanks guarantee an outstanding wine from the right bank. This wine is naturally dominated by Merlot and impresses with its freshness and great fruit. Raspberries, strawberries and black berries are to the fore in La Pensée, rounded off with hints of roasted nuts, spices and coffee.Enjoy this wine either on its own or in combination with beef or tuna steak and grilled meats.

Hensel Höhenflug Grauer Burgunder
The wines from the Höhenflug line produced by the Hensel estate wonderfully reflect the great diversity and the dedicated commitment of Thomas Hensel to coaxing the best out of his grapes. Due to the controlled ageing in wooden casks, the wines have a special elegance and complexity. The classic Höhenflug Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) is the best evidence of this. On the nose, it offers fine barrique aromas such as notes of vanilla, hazelnuts and toast, complemented by spicy nuances of overripe pears, honeydew melon and hints of pepper. It is incredibly complex and powerful but supple on the palate. Despite its heft, the Höhenflug Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) from the Palatinate never loses its freshness and balance. The long-lasting finish is accompanied by hints of lemon.Enjoy the Höhenflug Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) with salads dressed with vinegar and oil or light grilled dishes.

Baron de Brane Margaux
Baron de Brane is the second wine of the award-winning Cru Classé Château Brane Cantenac from Margaux. Wine connoisseurs will realize that this red wine must be something very special. Far from being second rate, this wine is an outstanding product of the Margaux appellation. The blend consists of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Carmenere, aged for 12 months in wooden barrels with 30% new barrels. Fruit, elegance and Margaux refinement characterize the Baron der Brane. A price-performance miracle that impresses with dark berries and a typical Cabernet Sauvignon nose. This is followed by liquorice, blackberries, roasted notes and some tobacco on the palate. The finish is long and harmonious, the tannins are silky and well integrated. This red wine is an excellent accompaniment to BBQ game dishes, red meat and blue cheese. We think: A brilliant achievement from this Margaux estate, which is currently flying high. Be sure to pick it up, as the wine will continue to improve in the cellar over the next few years. Wonderfully ready to drink now, but decant for an hour first!

L'Hospitalet de Gazin Pomerol AOC
The l'Hospitalet de Gazin Pomerol comes from the famous Château Gazin, a neighbor of Pétrus from the Pomerol appellation on the right bank of Bordeaux. The l'Hospitalet de Gazin Pomerol 2021 is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Its grapes were hand-picked and the wine matured for 18 months in oak barrels. What we particularly like about l'Hospitalet is that this wine has great ageing potential, but can also be a lot of fun to drink in its youth after at least an hour of decanting. The l'Hospitalet de Gazin is very well balanced and harmonious. It shows multi-layered aromas, including plums, tobacco, lots of blackberry, blackcurrant, some leather and chocolate; the tannins are present, but already have an excellent smoothness. The finish is long and spicy.Excellent for food pairing with braised and grilled meats, entrecôte, steak and, of course, as a solo wine.
