Château La Pensée in the Lalande-Pomerol appellation is a top achievement from this winery, which has been performing at the level of an insider tip for years. In terms of quality, the wines are in no way inferior to the grape juices from the more renowned Pomerol appellation and once again represent a leap into another league.

Harvesting by hand, optimal grape ripening through vendages vertes and fermentation in concrete tanks guarantee an outstanding wine from the right bank.

This wine is naturally dominated by Merlot and impresses with its freshness and great fruit. Raspberries, strawberries and black berries are to the fore in La Pensée, rounded off with hints of roasted nuts, spices and coffee.

Enjoy this wine either on its own or in combination with beef or tuna steak and grilled meats.

The Château de Pitray of the 2015 vintage is simply a sensation in terms of quality and good value for money. The 2015 vintage is considered the outstanding vintage in the Bordelais region. It produced the best grapes ever in the Bordeaux region’s modern history, alongside 2009 and 2010. The winery is located in Gardegan in the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation with its plateaus composed of limestone and clay, situated on the right bank of the Gironde River, just 8 kilometres from Saint-Émilion. This splendid Château has been owned by the Pitray family for 600 years. It would be a worthy setting for every Harry Potter film. The remarkable limestone and clay soils provide excellent conditions for the Merlot grapes that make up 75% of this assemblage. The cuvée of the 2016 de Pitray further consists of 23% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec. In the vineyards, interventions in nature are minimised as far as possible; herbicides are not used, for example. The wine matured for 12 months in barriques and offers impressive harmony and elegance. The 2016 Château Pitray can already be enjoyed now but will be a real delight over the next 5-8 years. We recommend decanting the wine at least one hour before drinking it. The wine offers lovely aromas of dark, ripe fruit such as bilberries, blackberries and wild strawberries, wonderfully accompanied by round, fine tannins. Nothing is in the wrong place here. The notes of wood emphasise the wine’s finesse without drowning it. The 2016 Château Pitray has a well-defined, precise bouquet with blackberry and crushed strawberry fruit, the oak nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, not much depth here, but very well balanced with a silky smooth finish. This comes highly recommended, since it is usually well priced. The Château de Pitray 2016 is an ideal accompaniment to grilled dishes, game, meat loaf, roast beef and cheeses. It is also lovely on its own to enjoy with friends.

Die Familien Moulin und Cathiard haben 2014 Beauregard übernommen und die Qualität nochmals auf ein höheres Niveau gehoben. Dem Benjamin de Beauregard kommt dabei bei der Weinbereitung die selbe Sorgfalt zu, wie dem Grand Vin. Die Ernte wird auf Beauregard vollständig manuell ausgeführt. Der Benjamin wird im Holzfass ausgebaut, mit 30% Neufassanteil. Er ist von rubinroter Farbe. Die Nase umschmeicheln milde Düfte von dunklen Kirschen, Paprika, Karamell, Pflaumen und Kräutern. Am Gaumen überwiegen vor allem die Früchte und die feine Struktur imponiert. Der Abgang ist ebenfalls durch dunkle Früchte charakterisiert. Der Wein zeigt eine schöne Balance und Ausgeglichenheit. Er ist jetzt bereits nach etwas dekantieren trinkreif, bleibt aber durchaus noch 8 Jahren auf dem Höhepunkt. Köstlich in Kombination mit rotem Fleisch, Wildgerichten und Käse.

Der Château Beaumont 2020 ist ein Cru Bourgeois aus dem Haut-Médoc, eine der berühmten Appellationen vom linken Ufer der Gironde in Bordeaux.Er verkörpert die klassischen Werte eines sehr hochwertigen Weins aus dem Bordelais, mit schöner, klarer Struktur, guten Tanninen, Frucht und einem hohen Alterungspotential. Das Jahr 2020 trug hierzu einiges bei, handelt es sich doch um einen der drei Ausnahmejahrgänge in der Serie von 2018-2020.Die Assemblage besteht aus Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot und Petit Verdot.Der Château Beaumont 2020 ist von tief violett-roter Farbe mit schönen Purpurreflexen. Das Bouquet überzeugt durch schöne Brombeernoten, Tabak, Unterholz, Schokolade und dunkler Frucht. Am Gaumen seidige Tannine, durchaus stoffiger und fülliger Körper, mit einem würziger Nachhall.Bereits jetzt nach etwas Dekantieren trinkbar, hat der Beaumont 2020 eine ausgezeichnete Lebenserwartung.James Suckling: 90-91/100; Neal Martin in Vinous: "This is a bloody great Beaumont" - 91-93/100.

Aufgrund seines jungen Alters empfehlen wir eine ausgiebige Belüftung vor dem Genuss.Er offenbart schöne Noten von schwarzen Beeren, am Gaumen ebenfalls viel Frucht, Kirsche, gecrushte Erdbeeren und leichte Anflüge von Mandeln.
