The Bellevue Cinsault comes from one of South Africa's most traditional wine estates. Rooted in Stellenbosch, the Bellevue family winery is one of the pioneers of this versatile grape variety, which was once known as Hermitage. Today, Bellevue is reinterpreting Cinsault as a fresh, fruity red wine with moderate alcohol and a fine structure, ideal for the warmer months of the year.Bellevue Cinsault has a bright ruby red color in the glass and a lively, fragrant nose. Aromas of raspberry, strawberry, sour cherry and a hint of beet characterize the bouquet. On the palate, the red wine is medium-bodied, silky and fresh, with a subtle spiciness and supple tannins that blend harmoniously into the overall picture.The grapes come from old bush vines planted between 1994 and 1996. After gentle pressing, the must was fermented immediately. Fermentation lasted around four days, accompanied by daily pumping over for gentle extraction. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and then matured on the fine lees. Ageing took place in French and American oak, which gives the wine structure and depth without masking the fruit.This Cinsault is an ideal accompaniment to beef carpaccio, grilled tuna, antipasti or summer vegetable dishes. Thanks to its freshness and fine structure, it can also be served slightly chilled - perfect for the terrace or a picnic.Best served at 14-16°C - slightly chilled, it reveals its fresh, summery elegance to optimum effect.

Bellevue Pinotage 2020

Bellevue Pinotage comes from one of South Africa's most traditional wine estates. The winery in Stellenbosch planted one of the very first Pinotage vineyards back in 1953 - making it one of the pioneers of this unique grape variety. Pinotage is a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault and is now a true flagship of South African viticulture. The vines grow on different soils, mostly as so-called bush vines, which were planted between 1959 and 1996.The Bellevue Pinotage is fruity and lively in the glass. Aromas of red plum, cherry and raspberry are in the foreground, complemented by a pleasant spiciness and fine roasted aromas from the wooden barrel. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, juicy and elegant, with silky tannins and a harmonious, long-lasting finish. The fresh acidity also makes it particularly versatile with food.The grapes are harvested by hand and briefly cold crushed before fermentation to preserve color and fruit. The red wine then ferments for around four days, with gentle pumping over to extract the tannins and structure in the best possible way. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is matured in American oak barrels made by French coopers - the result is a balanced style with a gentle woody character and plenty of fruit.This Pinotage goes particularly well with roast beef, braised dishes such as oxtail or - for a change of pace - grilled fish such as galjoen, a South African classic. It also cuts a fine figure with strongly seasoned vegetables or mushroom dishes. Best served at 16-18°C, slightly chilled or room temperature.

Bellevue Reserve Pinotage 2021

With the Bellevue Reserve Pinotage, the renowned Bellevue winery from Stellenbosch presents its most intense and concentrated interpretation of South Africa's national grape variety. The wine comes from selected parcels of older Pinotage vineyards and embodies all the depth, power and elegance that Pinotage has to offer.This Pinotage is dense, powerful and at the same time polished - a real powerhouse with elegance. The nose is dominated by aromas of violets, cedar wood and dark berries. Sweet and tart raspberries, maraschino cherries and a fine umami note unfold on the palate, underpinned by fine-grained tannins and a clear, long-lasting structure.Only the best grapes are used for this reserve wine, mainly from a bush vineyard planted in 1996 on weathered granite and slate soil. After a four-day cold maceration, fermentation was temperature-controlled, with daily pump-overs for optimum extraction. The wine underwent spontaneous malolactic fermentation in barriques and matured for 22 months in French oak barrels - half new, half second-use.This expressive red wine calls for matured beef, a hearty game dish or - for the brave - one of the finest matured cheeses with character. Enjoy this Bellevue Reservie Pinotage at a drinking temperature of 16-18°C.

Belondrade Les Parcelles is the realization of Didier Belondrade’s dream to create an exceptional Verdejo that uncompromisingly reflects the terroir. It is based on two exceptional, perfectly complementary vineyards: La Cruz, a vineyard over 50 years old on gravelly and clay-rich soils, and Alameda, a bush-trained vineyard over 70 years old on distinctly sandy soils. Both parcels are located not far from the winery in one of the region’s finest sites. Only 2,149 bottles were produced from this exclusive vintage.Didier Belondrade and Marta Baquerizo’s intuition was already confirmed with the very first harvest: the pure free-run juice needs time to unfold its full potential. After 18 months of aging in barriques, the wine is bottled and then stored further at the winery until it has reached optimal maturity and its full complexity and elegance. Belondrade Les Parcelles is released only when the family deems it ready to drink—which is why not every vintage makes it to the market.On the nose, the wine displays exceptionally precise and terroir-driven aromas. Ein erstklassiger Zweitwein: Der Belondrade Quinta Apolonia ist sozusagen der kleine Bruder des berühmteren Belondrade y Lurton. Was aber Qualität und auch Beliebtheit angeht, ist der Abstand zwischen diesen beiden Spitzenweinen aus Spanien nicht groß. 92 Punkte in Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate für den Belondrade Quinta Apolonia im Jahrgang 2023 sind ein deutlicher Fingerzeig, dass dieser reinsortige, junge Verdejo ein wunderbares Geschmackserlebnis ist.Der spanische Weißwein duftet anregend nach Pfirsich und Aprikose, dazu Noten von exotischen Früchten wie Litschi und Maracuja. Im Hintergrund florale Nuancen sowie unterschwellige Anklänge von Zitrusfrüchten. Weinkritiker Luis Gutiérrez schreibt im Wine Advocate von einer „ausdrucksstarken Nase mit Pfirsich und Lorbeer, dazu etwas Rosenblätter, ein wenig exotisch mit Noten, die an Moscatel oder gar Gewürztraminer erinnern“.Am Gaumen ist der Verdejo trocken und angenehm weich, mit kraftvollen Aromen und zugleich einer eindrucksvollen Frische. Die Ausgewogenheit von nuancierter Frucht, feiner Säure und hintergründigen Eichenholz-Aromen machen den Belondrade Quinta Apolonia zu einem kleinen Fest für die Sinne. Der Weißwein hallt noch länger nach.Der goldgelb strahlenden Verdejo von Belondrade, etwa 180 Kilometer nordwestlich von Madrid im Anbaugebiet Castilla y León gelegen, wurde zu einem Drittel im Barrique fermentiert und zu zwei Dritteln in Edelstahl und Beton. Belondrade y Lurton DO Rueda 2024

In der Zwischenzeit wurde der 26zigste Jahrgang des Belondrade y Lurton hergestellt. Auch der aktuelle Jahrgang zeigt wieder die ganze Kunst des Weinmachens von Belondrade. Mit etwa nur 100.000 Flaschen immer noch eine überschaubare Produktionsmenge ist dieser Weißwein aus Rueda bereits weltweit etabliert. Auf insgesamt 23 biologisch bewirtschafteten Parzellen des Weinbergs Quinta San Diego wachsen die Trauben für diesen außergewöhnlichen Wein. Der Belondrade y Lurton überzeugt durch ein vielfältiges Aromenspiel in der Nase. Am Gaumen herrlich frisch und elegant. Ungewöhnlich für einen fassgereiften Verdejo ist die unverwechselbare Typizität nach exotischen Früchten und cremigen Holznoten. Schöne Balance zwischen Frucht und Gerbstoffen mit einer weichen, aber festen Struktur. Die moderate Säure verleiht dem Belondrade y Lurton eine anhaltende Komplexität, die im Abgang mit einem süßen Schmelz endet.Der Belondrade y Lurton passt hervorragend zu kräftigen Salaten oder leichten Fischgerichten. Benguela Cove MCC Cuvee 58 Rose ist ein südafrikanischer Schaumwein aus der Region Walker Bay. Er wird zu 75% aus Pinot Noir und 25% aus Sauvignon Blanc vinifiziert. Dabei kommt die Methode Cap Classique zum Einsatz, ähnlich also der Herstellung eines Champagners. Der Wein hat eine rosegoldene Farbe und zeigt ausgeprägte Aromen von roten Beeren, türkischem Honig und Granatapfel mit Untertönen von Veilchen in der Nase. Der Geschmack ist verführerisch frisch und belebend mit einem anhaltenden Nachgeschmack von Erdbeere, Nougat und geschnittener Grapefruit.
