When US wine critics write about the Bibi Graetz Colore 2020, you can literally feel their enthusiasm, which they also express with 98 points for this Super Tuscan. Bibi Graetz himself is not stingy with superlatives: "I think that this year we have made the best Colore we have ever produced."The pure Sangiovese from Tuscany comes from ancient vines whose grapes have an unmistakable aromatic depth. Monica Larner awarded the world-class Italian red wine 96 points in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. "The Bibi Graetz 2020 Colore is a pure expression of Sangiovese, sourced entirely from old vines meticulously selected in different parts of Tuscany." The majority of the fruit comes from an elevated and cool site in Lamole or from 70-year-old vines in Bagno a Ripoli and Vincigliata near Fiesole. "A small percentage of old vines in Olmo is also used. Bibi has a preference for old vines, and you can taste the beautiful depth and complexity that comes through in the Colore."The bouquet of the Colore 2020 is phenomenally complex. Where to begin, where to end? Beguiling notes of cherries and ripe strawberries characterize the bouquet, harmonizing wonderfully with notes of cedar wood, dried herbs, liquorice and mint. There is also a wonderful hint of vanilla.On the palate, this Super Tuscan is dry, velvety soft, full-bodied, wonderfully fruity and at the same time light and dancing. "A wine with a perfect and lively tension, in which the power of the vintage dances harmoniously with the elegance of our vines," writes Bibi Graetz. Monica Larner judges that the mineral aromas and the light, clear acidity make the Colore an exceptional wine. Suckling: "Full-bodied, but not exaggerated, with tannins that are polished and show themselves over the entire length of the wine. It is dense, but has all the characteristics of a great wine." The finish of the Bibi Graetz Colore 2020 lingers for an almost unreal length of time.The Sangiovese grapes were harvested up to eight times in each vineyard. This means that only grapes with the perfect degree of ripeness are used for the Colore. The wines from the individual vineyards matured separately in oak for almost 20 months before the team decided on the final blend. The best Colore ever? Lucky for those who can form their own opinion.

Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate awards 94 points and high praise to the Bibi Graetz Testamatta Rosso Toscana 2019 as “a pure expression of Sangiovese” in its accolade to this fantastic Tuscan red wine, which is also celebrated by other wine critics around the globe. James Suckling awards it 97 points, followed by Falstaff with 95. Connoisseurs can look forward to a fascinatingly complex and intense bouquet. Suckling writes of a “very attractive combination of dried fruit and spices with black cherries and plums. Aromas of flowers and sandalwood, too.” The Wine Advocate detects “perfumed blue flower, candied orange peel, wet earth and plummy black fruit.” On the palate, the Bibi Graetz Testamatta Rosso Toscana 2019 is full-bodied, simultaneously powerful and elegant. The velvety tannins are wonderfully integrated and intertwined with the intense fruit, resulting in an exceptional taste experience. Moreover, according to the Wine Advocate, “a strong chalky mineral signature” characterises the looong finish. Bibi Graetz himself wrote, “Elegance, that is the word that describes Testamatta 2019,” adding that “Testamatta 2019 is perfectly balanced with deep layers that show incredible complexity."The grapes for the single-varietal Sangiovese come from the five best vineyards of the Testamatta estate in Tuscany: Vincigliata, Londa, Lamole, Montefili and Siena. The vines are up to 80 years old. The staff involved in producing the Bibi Graetz Testamatta undertake up to eight (!) harvesting phases. Only grapes of optimal ripeness are used in this shimmering, deep ruby red wine. The wines from the individual vineyards were aged in oak casks for 20 months. Graetz wrote, “The 20th anniversary of Testamatta is a real milestone, the pinnacle of quality that I have been looking for in my Sangiovese since the first vintage in 2000.” Those who open a bottle of the Testamatta 2019 are fortunate to be able to share in it.

The Bibi Graetz Testamatta Rosso 2020 is an outstanding red wine from Tuscany. You don't really need to say much more when you hear the name Bibi Graetz in the wine world. You can simply rely on getting a super Tuscan that makes international wine critics rave about it. It's no different with this single-varietal Sangiovese from the 2020 vintage. Nevertheless, let's take a closer look - so that the anticipation grows.Incidentally, Testamatta means something like "muddlehead". There seems to be a lot of irony in this name, because you can hardly create a wine in a more planned and meticulous way than the team around Bibi Graetz in the small town of Fiesole (in the north-east of Florence) does.Graetz himself shows no false modesty with his Testamatta Rosso 2020: "This is the highest level of perfection ever achieved," he writes. He particularly emphasizes the strawberry notes and vanilla aroma, as well as an incredible freshness.James Suckling awarded the wine 94 points and described the bouquet as follows: "Beautiful, fresh aromas of sour cherries, orange peel and lemon shrub." Notes of plum and freshly cut liquorice also enrich the complex bouquet.On the palate, the Bibi Graetz Testamatta Rosso 2020 is dry, highly aromatic and wonderfully fresh. Graetz attributes the freshness to the new vineyards in Olmo, where the grapes ripen on a "magical terroir" at an altitude of 420 meters. Monica Larner, who awards 95 points in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, confirms this: "The introduction of these grapes (from an airy, high-altitude site) gives Testamatta its beautiful clarity, sharpness and sublime bouquet. The new Fiesole fruit makes up around 30 to 35% of this wine. Binigrau Celler B Rosat 2023

Die Bodega Binigrau von der Mittelmeerinsel Mallorca hat sich über die letzten Jahre zu einem der erfolgreichsten Produzenten für Wein auf der bei Deutschen besonders beliebten Insel entwickelt. Die beiden Brüder Miquel und Matias Batle vinifizieren mit viel Herzblut außergewöhnliche Weine. Ein gutes Beispiel dafür ist der Binigrau B Rosat. Eine Rose aus der einheimischen Traube Mantonegro und einem kleinen Anteil Merlot hergestellt. Jede Sorte wird separat vinifiziert und ausgebaut. Nach einer kurzen Mazeration in Kontakt mit den Schalen beginnt die Gärung spontan, sorgfältig kontrolliert bei sehr niedriger Temperatur.Im Glas zeigt sich eine zarte, blassrosa leuchtende Farbe. In der Nase entfaltet sich eine breite Aromenpalette mit Noten von verschiedenen Beeren, wie Himbeere oder Johannisbeere. Dazu kommen intensive Noten von Pfirsich und weißen Blüten. Am Gaumen ist der Binigrau B Rosat elegant, fruchtig und weich. Sanfte Zitrusfrüchte, Erdbeeren und Grapefruit ergeben einen jungen, frischen und mineralischen Wein. Ein Rose mit beeindruckender Tiefe und Länge.Besonders geeignet für kräftige Speisen, wie Kalbfleisch mariniert, Austern oder Asiatisch scharf.

Beim Binigrau Nounat handelt es sich um einen Weißwein von der wunderschönen Insel Mallorca. Der Wein besteht zu 60% aus der autochthonen Sorte Prensal Blanc, die aus alten Weinbergen stammt. Die restlichen 40 % steuert die Rebsorte Chardonnay bei. Beide Rebsorten werden separat vinifiziert und ausgebaut. Die Gärung beginnt spontan und wird sorgfältig überwacht und kontrolliert. Eine lange Gärung auf der Hefe bei sehr niedrigen Temperaturen bewahrt subtile Aromen.Der Binigrau Nounat hat eine saubere und helle blassgelbe Farbe. Er schimmert leicht golden im Glas. Das Bouquet ist komplex und besticht durch Noten von Zitrusfrucht, Mandeln und exotischen Früchten. Schon der erste Schluck zeigt die saftig frische Säure. Der Wein kombiniert eine weiche Cremigkeit mit einer schönen Fülle. Wunderbar vollmundig und belebend bis zum Abgang.Einer der besten Weißweine Mallorcas, welcher sehr schön mit unterschiedlichsten Speisen zu kombinieren ist.

Der Binigrau Obac stammt von der spanischen Insel Mallorca und verkörpert die Essenz der mediterranen Insel und das Engagement des Weinguts Binigrau für höchste Qualität. Im Glas präsentiert sich der Binigrau Obac in einem tiefen Rubinrot mit eleganten Granatfarbtönen. Die Nase verströmt einen verlockenden Duft von dunklen Beeren und einem Hauch von mediterranen Kräutern und Gewürzen. Die sorgfältig ausgewählten Trauben, darunter lokale Sorten wie Mantonegro und Callet werden mit größter Sorgfalt vinifiziert und reifen anschließend für 14 Monate in französischen Eichenfässern. The geographical location and the vineyard make it possible to produce exceptional Grüner Veltliners that guarantee elegance and grace.The hand-picked grapes are pressed in October. The resulting must is left on the skins to extract as much aroma as possible from the berry skins. This is followed by spontaneous fermentation and ageing in large and small wooden barrels. The white wine matures for 6 months on the lees, after which it is bottled in August.The Birgit Eichinger Grüner Veltliner Lamm Kamptal DAC is a dry white wine with great potential. The inviting bouquet is characterized by fine blossom honey, a hint of tangerine zest, yellow currants and a delicate scent of white nougat. On the palate, the Grüner Veltliner is juicy, elegantly supported by fine fruit sweetness and yellow drop fruit nuances. Lively acidity, subtle spice aromas with a smoky undertone and hints of beeswax are noticeable. Biscardo Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2021

This top wine from Veneto has an intense, garnet red color. The grape varieties Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara, which are characteristic of the region, give the wine its unique taste. Intense and persistent cherry aromas on the nose. On the palate, it is velvety, slightly bitter and reminiscent of cherry and bitter almonds. Incidentally, the Italian "amaro" means bitter. The grapes ripen on the hills of the small villages around Verona at an altitude of 150 to 400 meters above sea level. They are harvested by hand, usually at dawn or in the evening. This prevents the harvested grapes from being exposed to excessive heat and losing freshness.The quality of the grape skin is particularly important for Amarone, as it determines the tannins, color and flavor intensity. Incidentally, legend has it that a cellar worker in the 1930s actually wanted to create Recioto, but forgot the wine in the barrels. Fermentation continued and the sugar was converted into alcohol - which also explains the bitterness.Mabi's Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is an excellent accompaniment to red meat and game.

Biscardo Enigma Appassimento Sangiovese Rubicone IGT 2022

An seinem auffallenden Etikett ist der Mabis Biscardo Enigma Appassimento Sangiovese Rubicone IGT erkennbar. Enigma (dt. rätselhaft) hat das italienische Weingut Mabis seinen Appassimento benannt. Unter Leitung der Familie Biscardo und einigen Landwirtschaftsbetrieben der Emilia-Romagna wurde der Rotwein mit dem Hinweis an alle Weingenießer und Appassimento Liebhaber erschaffen, diesen mystischen Wein mit geweckter Neugier zu entdecken.Die Sangiovese Trauben, aus denen der Rotwein gekeltert wird, werden im Spätherbst von Hand geerntet. Die Beeren sind zu diesem Zeitpunkt teilweise getrocknet. Um den Früchten weiterhin Wasser zu entziehen, sodass Zucker und Extrakt konzentrierter werden, wird das Trocknungsverfahren fortgefahren. Ende Dezember erfolgt eine langsame Mazeration bei kontrollierten und niedrigen Temperaturen. Bis zum März reift der Wein auf der Hefe, wovon 30% in Eichenfässern. Wie der Name des Weins und das Herstellungsverfahren uns verraten, wird der Enigma nach dem Appassimentoverfahren vinifiziert.Der intensiv schwarze Mabis Biscardo Enigma Appassimento Sangiovese Rubicone IGT verführt mit harmonischen Aromen von roten Früchten und schwarzen Beeren. Die Sinne nehmen einen gut balancierten Wein mit weichen und süßen Tanninen wahr.
