Auch beim Testamatta 2018 kommen die Trauben aus diesen Weinbergen, die biologisch bewirtschaftet werden. Das gibt dem Wein seinen unverwechselbaren Stil. In der Nase duftet der Rotwein markant nach Brombeere, Blaubeere, Trüffeln und weißem Pfeffer. Der aus 100% Sangiovese hergestellte Testamatta 2018 zeigt sich frisch, fruchtig und wunderbar elegant. Am Gaumen mit leichten mineralischen und erdigen Noten, begleitet von präsenten seidigen Tanninen. Ausgesprochen intensiv und mit viel Finesse bis zum Finale.

Passt sehr gut zu Rinderbraten oder Pasta. Öffnen Sie den Wein 2 Stunden vor dem Genießen.

Der Testamatta 2018 von Bibi Grätz ist vielfach prämiert: Decanter vergibt die Höchstpunktzahl von 100 und auch James Suckling ist mit 97 von 100 Punkten nicht weit entfernt.

Die Trauben für den reinsortigen Sangiovese stammen aus den Weinbergen der renommierten Weinregion Montalcino. Die Weinberge liegen 175 bis 500 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel. Der nährstoffreiche Boden, die Lage und das Klima tragen dazu bei, dass der Poggio Landi Brunello di Montalcino DOCG weltberühmt ist. Nach einer natürlichen, spontanen Gärung reift der Wein für 38 Monate in 30 Hl und 54 Hl Holzfässern aus französischer Eiche. Danach reift der Poggio Landi Brunello di Montalcino DOCG noch für mindestens sechs weitere Monate in der Flasche. Der Rotwein aus der Toskana bringt hervorragende Eigenschaften für eine lange Lagerung mit.Der Spitzenrotwein bietet in der Nase Aromen reifer roter Früchte, verstärkt durch schwarzen Pfeffer und Lakritz. Am Gaumen hat er eine gute Balance mit anhaltenden Tanninen und Aromen von roten Früchten mit einem Hauch von Gewürzen.

Wie schon beim Testamatta stammen die Trauben von Reben in einem Alter von 80 bis 135 Jahren, was sicherlich besonders ist. Diese Basis schafft einen Wein, der nicht nur sehr konzentriert und kraftvoll, sondern gleichermaßen homogen, rund und elegant ist. Diese Balance zu kreieren erstaunt doch sehr. Nachdem Einschenken ins Glas (wir hatten den Wein 2 Stunden vorher dekantiert) ein intensives Aroma von Kirschen und Himbeeren in der Nase. Gefolgt von Kräuternoten und dem Duft einer Blumenwiese. Durch eine deutliche Säure entsteht ein frisches und subtiles Bouquet. Am Gaumen zeigt sich der Bibi Grätz Colore 2018 komplex und kraftvoll mit feiner Raffinesse. Im Finish konzentriertes Lakritz und sogar etwas Tabak. Sichern Sie sich ein paar Flaschen von den nur 9000 produzierten Exemplaren dieses wunderbaren Weins. Der Wein wird durch ein paar weitere Jahre Flaschenreife sicher noch an Trinkfreude zunehmen. So ist es auch nicht verwunderlich, dass unter anderem James Suckling 99 von 100 Punkten, Robert Parker und das Decanter Magazin je 97 von 100 möglichen Punkten vergeben

Diesen „Super-Toskaner“ braucht man eigentlich nicht mehr vorstellen. Italienische Eleganz, gepaart mit viel Finesse und feinster, vielschichtiger Aromatik bei balancierter Säure stehen auch beim 2021er Tignanello im Vordergrund, der 2021 fünfzig Jahre alt geworden ist. Nie auf der feisten und fetten Seite, nie erschlagend, und doch von majestätischer Figur, immer ausgewogen und höchst vielschichtig. Die Cuvée besteht aus 80 % Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon und 5% Cabernet Franc.  An der Nase viel dunkle Früchte, Zeder, Kräuter, Orange, Gewürze, süsser Pfeiffentabak und Pfeffer. Dies setzt sich am Gaumen fort, mit zusätzlichen Noten von Grapefruit, Himbeere, einem Korb voll dunkler und heller Kirschen, etwas Nelken und viel cremigen, sanften Tanninen. Im Hintergrund spinnt eine feine Säure ihre Fäden und hält die Komposition zusammen. Der Nachhall ist extrem lang und nicht enden wollend.  Der 2021er Tignanello bleibt dabei immer eine vollendet harmonische Hymne, ohne jegliche dissonante Noten.  Wieviel Hingabe und Perfektion diesem Wein zu Teil kommt, wird auch dadurch deutlich, dass er 17 Monate im Fass reift. Davon verbringt er 3 Monate während der malolaktischen Gärung in neutralem Holz und liegt anschließend noch 14 Monate zu 50% in Neufässern.  Es ist kein Wunder, dass auch in diesem Jahr das Flagschiff der Marchesi Antinori nahezu einhellig den Highscore der Kritiker abräumt (zu den Bewertungen siehe unten). Wer den Wein bereits heute gerne trinken möchte, sollte ihn mindestens für zwei Stunden vor dem Genuss dekantieren.  Ansonsten dürfte er, die Geduld des Besitzers vorausgesetzt, noch mehrere Dekaden Trinkfreude bereiten.  Parker: 98/100; Galloni 98/100.

The soil is mainly “terra rossa”, with a fine texture and generally a calcareous undergound with a few emerging rocks. The well-known redness of these soils is due to the presence of iron oxides. The climate is characterised by high temperatures all year round, very few rainfalls and a wide difference of temperature between night and day, which has a nice influence on the quality of grapes. The Bibi Graetz Testamatta Rosso 2020 is an outstanding red wine from Tuscany. You don't really need to say much more when you hear the name Bibi Graetz in the wine world. You can simply rely on getting a super Tuscan that makes international wine critics rave about it. It's no different with this single-varietal Sangiovese from the 2020 vintage. Nevertheless, let's take a closer look - so that the anticipation grows.Incidentally, Testamatta means something like "muddlehead". There seems to be a lot of irony in this name, because you can hardly create a wine in a more planned and meticulous way than the team around Bibi Graetz in the small town of Fiesole (in the north-east of Florence) does.Graetz himself shows no false modesty with his Testamatta Rosso 2020: "This is the highest level of perfection ever achieved," he writes. He particularly emphasizes the strawberry notes and vanilla aroma, as well as an incredible freshness.James Suckling awarded the wine 94 points and described the bouquet as follows: "Beautiful, fresh aromas of sour cherries, orange peel and lemon shrub." Notes of plum and freshly cut liquorice also enrich the complex bouquet.On the palate, the Bibi Graetz Testamatta Rosso 2020 is dry, highly aromatic and wonderfully fresh. Graetz attributes the freshness to the new vineyards in Olmo, where the grapes ripen on a "magical terroir" at an altitude of 420 meters. Monica Larner, who awards 95 points in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, confirms this: "The introduction of these grapes (from an airy, high-altitude site) gives Testamatta its beautiful clarity, sharpness and sublime bouquet. The new Fiesole fruit makes up around 30 to 35% of this wine. The results are lively, transparent and fresh both in terms of acidity and aromatic intensity."Suckling finds these words for the palate: "Medium-bodied with firm, racy acidity and ultra-fine tannins that give the wine clarity and energy. It definitely follows the new wave of crisp, lively Sangiovese creations from Tuscany that emphasize drinkability and transparency. Lighter than past vintages."The grapes for the Italian red wine come from six different vineyards: Vincigliata, Olmo, Londa, Lamole, Montefili and Siena. The grapes were meticulously harvested eight times in the individual vineyards. The various components were matured in oak for 20 months.The result is the outstanding Testamatta Rosso 2020. No "muddlehead", but a lucky child who gets to enjoy a bottle of this Super Tuscan.
