The Castellana winery cultivates a vineyard called Cantarranas, from which the grapes for this refreshing wine come. The Cantarranas Rueda Verdejo DO has a light, straw-yellow color in the glass. Its citrus notes are accompanied by hints of elderberry and tropical fruit. The vegan wine has a tangy acidity, is full-bodied and lean.Around 200 years ago, a small stream ran through the town where Valladolid is now a sociable meeting place with many bars, but it only carried water when it had just rained and then dammed up to form a small pond. Frogs would settle there and croak in a variety of pitches. This explains the name Cantarranas = frog song. The grapes for the Pinot Grigio from the Cantina Andrian estate grow in vineyards located in the mountains of South Tyrol. The soils consist of limestone and clay, interspersed with white dolomite rock and Andrian porphyry. After harvest, the white wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Subsequently, the wine matured for six months with yeast. The fruity bouquet recalls aromas of ripe honeydew melon, along with delicate floral notes. On the palate, the Cantina Andrian Pinot Grigio is juicy, soft and elegant. The grapes come from vineyards planted in calcareous clay and gravel soils between 240 and 500 meters in the areas Ora, Tramin and Egna.The grapes were gently pressed immediately following harvest.
