With the Eikendal Classique, the renowned wine estate from Stellenbosch presents a masterful Bordeaux-style cuvée. The combination of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot produces a complex yet supple red wine of great elegance.The nose is dominated by aromas of blue and black berries, accompanied by earthy notes, fine spice and delicate oak. On the palate, the wine is powerful, precise and balanced. A fresh, lively acidity and fine-grained tannins contribute to the structural depth, while red and black fruits and subtle roasted aromas ensure a lingering taste experience.The grapes come exclusively from the best plots of the Eikendal vineyards on the Helderberg. The soil of weathered "Koffieklip" (coffee stone) and the careful foliage work ensure concentrated, aromatic grapes with depth and finesse. Each grape variety was fermented and matured separately before the final cuvée was assembled. The wine was aged for 18 months in French barriques (20% of which were new), which gives the wine additional structure and ageing potential.Enjoy this fine red wine at 18-20 °C - ideal with roast pork, côte de boeuf or mature hard cheese.A storage wine with depth that will give pleasure for up to 20 years.

Eikendal Infused by Earth Cabernet Franc 2018

This exceptional Eikendal Infused by Earth Cabernet Franc comes from a particularly barren and stony section of the Classique vineyard, characterized by so-called "Koffieklip", deep clay and weathered granite. The vines grow there without artificial irrigation under natural stress conditions - the result: small, highly concentrated berries that produce a powerful yet elegant red wine.The grapes are harvested selectively in three stages of ripeness - from pre-fruit-fresh to fruit-fresh to ripe - which gives the wine a fascinatingly complex spectrum of aromas. A small proportion of whole grapes provides additional freshness and mineral notes. After a particularly long maceration period and natural spontaneous fermentation, the wine is matured for 12 months in 500-liter French oak barrels, whereby untoasted barriques do not mask the fine varietal character.In the glass, the Eikendal Cabernet Franc impresses with intense aromas of dark berries, herbs, fine spices and a hint of graphite. The well-integrated acidity, silky tannins and mineral undertone make it an extremely exciting and long-lasting red wine.Serving tip: This wine develops particularly harmoniously at a serving temperature of 18-20 °C. The Enate Crianza DO consists mainly of Tempranillo and a smaller percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon. This Spanish blend is redolent of ripe, dark berries and nuances of coffee and chocolate, complemented by a lovely minerality and subtle toasted and caramel aromas. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with nicely integrated tannins and a long finish offering toasted notes. The Enate Crianza DO matured for 9 months in oak casks and for a further 18 months in the bottle.
