Delheim Grand Reserve 2020

The grapes for Delheim Grand Reserve 2020 were harvested by hand in small batches, with only the best grapes being processed. The juice was fermented in a combination of open-top fermenters and vertical stainless steel tanks. After extraction, the wine matured for 18 months in 300-liter French oak barrels.The complex bouquet of this cuvée of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12.5% Cabernet Franc, 12.5% Petit Verdot and 6% Merlot is dominated by blackberries and blackcurrants, followed by notes of tobacco and tomato leaf, fresh pencil shavings and cassis. On the palate, this red wine from South Africa is elegantly balanced with flavors of dark red fruits and a soft, chalky tannic finish typical of the region.Enjoy this powerful, fruity blend from the Stellenbosch region at a drinking temperature of 16 to 18 degrees. Delheim Iconoclast Versed Vines 2024

The Delheim Iconoclast Versed Vines is an exceptional white cuvée made from Delheim's oldest vineyard blocks in the Simonsberg, Stellenbosch. This Old Vine blend combines Riesling, Chenin Blanc, Muscat de Frontignan, Sauvignon Blanc and Colombar, whose vines were planted between 1984 and 1988 and, as part of the Certified Old Vine Project (OVP), have special expressiveness and terroir character.The vineyards are located on southwest-facing slopes with Oakleaf soils of decomposed granite. The cool climate of the Simonsberg, influenced by Atlantic breezes, ensures slow, even ripening and intense aromas.The grapes were hand-picked in the early hours of the morning and pressed whole to ensure maximum purity. Natural fermentation took place in French oak barrels (15% new wood), after which the wine matured for nine months on the fine lees, giving it depth, texture and complexity. The final cuvée was produced in a small, experimental batch that brings out the potential of old vines and terroir to the full.In the glass, the Delheim Iconoclast Versed Vines shows aromas of white peach and ripe pear, complemented by the delicate, floral Muscat perfume. The Diemersdal Eight Rows Sauvignon Blanc comes from the Diemersdal wine estate in Durbanville. The grapes come from eight carefully selected rows of a premium vineyard, from which Thys Louw made his first own wine.The vines grow on gentle slopes with soils of decomposed granite and clay, shaped by the maritime climate of the Atlantic. Cool morning mists and fresh summer breezes ensure even ripeness and intense aromas.After being harvested by hand, the grapes are gently processed and left on the skins for 8 hours. After pressing, they are left to rest for 36 hours.
