The La Bri Barrel Select Chardonnay from Franschhoek in South Africa comes from a strict barrel selection and impresses with its multi-layered aromas and impressive finesse. Already awarded the highest rating of 5 stars in Platter's Wine Guide several times, this wine shows once again that the interplay of terroir, low yields and precise cellar work can produce great wines.The grapes were harvested by hand. After a night in cold storage, the whole grapes were gently pressed. After pre-clarification, the must was transferred to 600-liter French oak barrels (half of which were new), where it fermented and matured for 11 months. This careful vinification gives the wine its fine woody spice, structure and depth without losing its freshness.In the glass, La Bri Barrel Select Chardonnay reveals an elegant interplay of fresh citrus fruit, juicy stone fruit notes and fine minerality. Creamy but focused on the palate, with animating acidity and a long, taut finish. La Bri Chardonnay 2024

La Bri Chardonnay is an expressive, carefully vinified white wine from Franschhoek that combines classic Chardonnay characteristics with South African radiance. With aromas of white pear, lime and a creamy, finely balanced palate, this wine offers drinking pleasure at a high level - carried by a crisp acidity and a playful, sweet and sour finish.The grapes were harvested by hand in the first week of February and cooled overnight to preserve freshness and fruit. After whole cluster pressing, the must was left to rest before the clear juice was transferred to a selection of high quality French oak barrels of 300 and 600 liters (39% of which were new).The wine fermented partly spontaneously, partly with selected yeasts directly in the wood. It then matured for a total of 12 months on the fine lees, giving it its creamy structure and fine complexity.In the glass, La Bri Chardonnay is animatingly fresh, with bright fruit notes, a hint of flowers and delicate wood. The balance between fruit, acidity and texture makes it a versatile accompaniment to food and an exciting soloist in equal measure.The bright yellow Clivia miniata on the label symbolizes the floral, lively character of the wine - an expression of freshness, joie de vivre and elegance.Perfect with grilled poultry, creamy pasta with mushrooms, goat's cheese or summer asparagus. Lanzerac Chardonnay 2024

The grapes for the Lanzerac Chardonnay come from the estate’s various vineyards, of which the oldest are more than 20 years old. The blending of the grapes from the different vineyards has a positive impact on the wines’ complexity. The yield is less than 5 tons per hectare (1 hectare = approx. 2.47 acres). In order to only pick healthy and fully ripe grapes, the harvest was carried out by hand. Subsequently, the grapes were again selected by hand in the cellar. After cutting, the grapes were cooled down to 59 °F and pressed.The wine was fermented in barrels, of which 70% were 300-litre oak casks and 30% were stainless steel tanks. After 9 months, the two batches were blended. The Lanzerac Chardonnay is full-bodied and distinctive, offering aromas of citrus, ginger, vanilla and clover on the nose. On the palate, it shows a noticeable balance between fruit, acidity and softness. The finish is creamy and long-lasting. Thanks to its wonderful complexity, the Lanzerac Chardonnay goes beautifully with smoked salmon, sea bass or paella with seafood.

Lanzerac Mrs. English Chardonnay 2024

In 1914, Elizabeth Katherina English bought the Schoongezicht farm and renamed it Lanzerac. In the following years, one of the most modern wineries at that time was created at the Cape. In order to pay tribute to this impressive woman, this wonderful Chardonnay was produced.The grapes for the Lanzerac Mrs. English Chardonnay come from a single vineyard located in the Jonkershoek valley. The vines are more than 20 years old and are situated 375 metres above sea level. The wine gleams flaxen in the glass and offers citrus aromas on the nose. On the palate, this marvellously complex wine is full-bodied and long-lasting. It was aged in new and used barrels, giving the wine a beautifully clear balance and lots of character. The Mrs. English Chardonnay is wonderfully rounded off by a pre-eminent fruitiness. Lanzerac Sauvignon Blanc 2024

The Lanzerac Sauvignon Blanc consists of grapes that come from two different vineyards. One of the vineyards is already 19 years old and located 450 metres above sea level. The grapes from these vines give the wine its complexity. The vines that grow in the second vineyard are only 4 years old, giving the wine its freshness. In order to protect the grapes from heat stress, the harvest was carried out early in the morning. After repeated selection in the cellar, the grapes were pressed at a temperature of approximately 57.2 °F. The must remained in contact with the skin for about 6 hours. Subsequently, the wine was fermented at a temperature of 53.6 to 57.2 °F for a period of 10 days. On the nose, the Lanzerac Sauvignon Blanc offers various aromas such as notes of green apple, Asian fruit, pears, white peach and lemon grass. It is soft and creamy on the palate, showing an intense minerality and a surprisingly long finish.Thanks to its vivid acidity, the Lanzerac Sauvignon Blanc goes beautifully with goat’s cheese and seafood salads.
