Der im Holz ausgebaute Chardonnay aus Südafrika ist ein wunderbares Geschmackserlebnis. Die Macherinnen und Macher von Constantia Uitsig schreiben von einem „Wein von außergewöhnlicher Qualität“. Die 4,5 Sterne (92 Platter-Punkte), die McDonald vergibt, untermauern dieses Urteil.

Das Bouquet des Weißweins aus Constantia umfasst Noten von Orange, Melone und Pfirsich. Dazu kommen die perfekt harmonierenden Eichennoten. Am Gaumen intensiv aromatisch (Zitrusfrüchte), trocken und vollmundig, mit schönem Nachklang. 

„Die Aussicht“: So lautet die Übersetzung von Uitsig (Afrikaans). Der Name liegt auf der Hand, denn das Weingut liegt an den Hängen der Tafelberg-Erhebungen, nur wenige Kilometer entfernt von der malerischen False Bay. Das Mikroklima ist hier ideal für den Weinbau, der bereits seit dem 16. Jahrhundert auf den Lagen betrieben wird, die heute Teil von Constantia Uitsig sind.

The bouquet of this white wine is wonderfully multi-faceted. It combines notes of lychee, guava and blackcurrant. There are also complementary, harmonious nuances of elderberry and gooseberry.On the palate, the Constantia Uitsig Sauvignon Blanc is dry and intensely fruity and aromatic (guava and gooseberry). The South African white wine has a fine minerality and pleasant acidity. It lingers for a long time.Fiona McDonald awards this Sauvignon Blanc 4 out of 5 stars in John Platter's Wine Guide. She describes Constantia Uitsig's creation as "lively, taut and tangy, with characteristic lime zest and white pepper".The history of viticulture in the Constantia Uitsig vineyards dates back to the 16th century. The vineyard is located between Table Mountain (15 kilometers north of Constantia Uitsig) and False Bay (10 kilometers south). The conditions for viticulture are ideal here. Most of the pure Sauvignon Blanc was matured in stainless steel tanks, a small proportion in concrete.Enjoy the Constantia Uitsig Sauvignon Blanc at a drinking temperature of 8 to 10 degrees.
