Powerful aroma. butter, honey and tropical fruits. caramel and toast. vanilla. lovely wide and seductive, a pleasant fresh citrus tone, smoky.

With a strong, non-dominated by the wood, flavor. Broad, almost Burgundian in its finesse. Nice acidity and great length, delicious citrus fruit.

A beautiful fish wine, although with strongly flavored fish. Scallops with vanilla sauce. such as a grilled sea bass with beurre blanc.

Springfield Estate liegt in Südafrika in der Weinbauregion Robertson im Zentrum der südafrikanischen Halbwüste Klein-Karoo. Das Klima der Region ist heiß und trocken, bietet aber bei ausreichender Bewässerung aufgrund äußerst fruchtbarer Böden hervorragende Bedingungen, um Weine von beeindruckender, zarter Mineralität zu kreieren. Besonders für brillante Weißweine sind die Weingüter der Region Robertson bekannt.

Springfield Estate ist im Besitz der Familie Bruwer, die in der neunten Generation Nachkommen französischer Hugenotten sind. Den Durchbruch zur Spitze des südafrikanischen Weinbaus erreichten aber erst die heutigen Weinmacher um Abrie Bruwer.

Die Bruwers verwenden ausschließlich Trauben von eigenen Weinbergen, das Beste wird mit dem Namen Springfield ausgezeichnet. Springfield Estate steht für ein überragendes Qualitätsniveau, aber auch ein moderates Preisgefüge. Es ist eines der besten Weingüter Südafrikas für Weißweine, produziert aber auch hervorragende Rotweine.

The broad and complex bouquet of Springfield The Work of Time is accompanied by vanilla, berries, cherries and a hint of chocolate. You can taste a smooth elegance on the palate and a slightly mature taste. There is also a light spiciness, vanilla aroma and cherry.The overall taste is smooth and well-rounded. The grapes were fermented entirely with indigenous yeasts (according to ancient custom) and left on their skins for 5 weeks. This was followed by 2 years of slow barrel ageing and a further 4 years of bottle ageing.
