The Lomond Syrah comes from the cool, coastal vineyards of Cape Agulhas, one of South Africa's southernmost wine regions. Due to the fresh sea breezes, the grapes ripen slowly and develop an extraordinary aroma with a perfect balance between fruit, spice and elegance.In the glass, this Syrah is a deep ruby red with violet reflections. The nose is dominated by intense aromas of dark berries such as blackberry and blackcurrant, accompanied by floral notes such as violet and a hint of white pepper, cloves and Mediterranean herbs. An impressive structure unfolds on the palate with velvety tannins, fine spice and well-integrated acidity. The long finish is characterized by subtle wood notes and mineral accents.The grapes are carefully harvested by hand in the early hours of the morning to preserve their freshness. After temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine is aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, some of which are new. This gives the wine additional depth, complexity and an elegant tannin structure.The Lomond Syrah is a perfect accompaniment to grilled lamb, beef steak, game dishes or hearty stews. Matured hard cheese or spicy tapas with chorizo and olives also harmonize wonderfully with this expressive red wine.For the best taste experience, this Syrah should be enjoyed at 16-18 °C. A short decanting time of around 30-60 minutes helps to allow its aromas to fully develop.

Die Trauben für den Piekenierskloof Shiraz aus der Citrusdal Mountains Region in Südafrika wachsen an Buschreben auf sandig lehmigem Boden. Dieser Rotwein zeigt ein funkelndes Dunkelrot im Glas. Die Nase ist geprägt von viel rauchiger Würze. Am Gaumen finden sich deutliche Gewürzaromen, wie schwarzer Pfeffer, Zimt und ein Hauch Curry. Dazu gesellen sich von Noten von Leder und Toast. A red wine from South Africa that is simply fun and a perfect companion for carefree hours: the Plaisir de Merle Estate Red is a blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc. The blend matured for around one and a half years in French (70%) and American (30%) oak.The result is a small feast for the senses: Petit Plaisir smells of ripe cherries, blackberries, dark plums and blackcurrants. There are also nuances of raspberry, dark chocolate and vanilla.On the palate, this South African ruby red wine from the Paarl region is dry, aromatic and wonderfully smooth, with firm, velvety tannins. The finish is lingering, with a pleasant aftertaste of ripe plums.Enjoy this creation from the Plaisir de Merle winery at a drinking temperature of 16 to 18 degrees. Made from 100% pure Shiraz and matured for 12 months in French and American oak, this wine is one of the top 100 South African wines. A wine with character and depth that will delight red wine lovers in particular.The bouquet opens with dark chocolate, spices and a hint of leather - an intense, profound interplay of aromas. On the palate, the Shiraz is complex and elegant, with hints of roasted toast and a fine mocha note on the finish. The grippy tannins provide structure and longevity, while the wine remains pleasantly balanced.After careful selection, the hand-picked grapes were destemmed and cold macerated for four days before fermentation was initiated with selected yeast strains. Regular pumping over and punching down guaranteed optimal extraction of color, aromas and tannins. After alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, the wine matured for 12 months in a combination of new and multi-seasoned French and American oak barrels, giving it depth and elegant spice.This Shiraz is the ideal accompaniment to grilled meat, game dishes, rack of lamb or spicy cheese. Made from an elegant cuvée of Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, this South African rosé combines lightness with character. It comes from the Klein River Ward in the renowned Walker Bay region of the Western Cape - a coastal location known for cool nights and intense aromas in the grapes.In the glass, the Raka Rosé shines in an appetizing melon pink with a subtle orange shimmer - a play of colours that immediately makes you want to take the first sip. Lively notes of strawberry and cherry unfold on the nose, delicately accompanied by a hint of candy floss. On the palate, the wine is dry, animatingly fresh and slightly tangy, with a fruity finish and well-integrated acidity.The cuvée consists of selected lots of Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc - each pressed at only 6-15% to extract the delicate rosé aromas while maintaining the balance between freshness and structure. The style is modern, dry and fruity, yet clear and uncomplicated with South African charm.All grapes were carefully harvested by hand and gently pressed immediately after sorting. The maceration time was around 4 hours in order to achieve the desired color intensity and aroma. The juice was fermented with pure yeasts at a controlled temperature of around 16 °C to preserve the freshness and fruit. Before bottling, the wine clarified naturally by gravity and was then gently filtered.Served well chilled, this rosé is ideal with light dishes: whether seafood, summer pasta, antipasti or cold platters with ham and cheese - it is versatile and also cuts an excellent figure on its own as an aperitif or sundowner.

Raka Spliced 2023

The Raka Spliced is the perfect everyday wine that impresses with its fruity and balanced structure. The cuvée of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Viognier comes from the Klein River Valley wine-growing region in South Africa.The bouquet is characterized by intense berry notes such as cherries, mulberries and blackberries, complemented by a fine olive note. On the palate, the wine has juicy plum fruit, lively cranberry acidity and subtle smoky oak flavors that lend it depth and complexity.The grapes were harvested by hand and carefully sorted in the vineyard and in the cellar. After a second berry selection, the must was fermented with pure yeasts. During the five-day maceration, the juice was pumped over the skins several times a day and punched down by hand to extract the color, tannins and aromas in the best possible way. After fermentation, the wine was separated from the yeasts, underwent malolactic fermentation and then matured for 12 to 14 months in a combination of 225-liter French oak barriques, 25% of which were new barrels.This versatile wine is an excellent accompaniment to grilled vegetables, pasta with tomato sauce, grilled poultry or spicy cheese variations. Enjoy it at a recommended drinking temperature of 16-18 °C.
