The Alto Rouge consists of 5 grape varieties: Cabernet Franc, Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The grapes for this wine come from north- and northwest-facing vineyards located on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountains. Thus, the vines are cooled by a fresh breeze in the afternoon, supporting the wine’s elegance and balance. The Alto Rouge is a deep ruby-red in the glass. On the nose, aromas of red fruit are predominant, along with hints of chocolate and light notes of woodchips. This cuvée is distinguished by its soft tannins and wonderful fruit aromas. Overall, this is a wine with style, lots of complexity and a high ageing potential. Winemaker Bertho van de Westhuizen recommends enjoying the Alto Rouge with game birds and tender red meat.

Der Glarea, ein hundertprozentiger Chardonnay, wurde mit Jahrgang 2020 erstmals von der Cantina Tramin vinifiziert. Der Name Glarea stammt aus dem Rätoromanischen und bedeutet Kies. Eindeutiger Hinweis auf den Boden auf dem die Reben stehen. Der Kiesboden sorgt für eine sehr starke Mineralität des Weines. Durch die Hanglage der Weinberge und starke Fallwinde kühlen die Trauben nachts und in den frühen Morgenstunden stark ab. Tagsüber ist es in der Regel sehr heiß, sodass für einen entsprechenden Temperaturausgleich gesorgt wird. Der Glarea profitiert davon durch eine besondere Frische und Balance. Die Gärung und Reifung erfolgte in unterschiedlich großen Holzfässern, was dem Wein nicht nur eine Langlebigkeit, sondern auch gute Struktur verleiht.Typisch strohgelb leuchtet der Glarea mit grünlichen Reflexen im Glas. Der Weißwein duftet intensiv nach Banane, Ananas und getrockneten Aprikosen. Am Gaumen ist der Wein saftig und frisch. Besonders prägt ihn seine außergewöhnliche Mineralität. Im Abgang voller frischer Kraft und Harmonie.Der Glarea von Cantina Tramin passt sehr gut zu Vorspeisen aller Art. Probieren Sie ihn auch zu Fischgerichten oder weißem Fleisch. To secure the future of many small local winegrowers, the Tramin cooperative was founded in 1898 in South Tyrol, Italy. Today, 170 winegrowing families cultivate a total of around 270 hectares of the winegrowing region and adhere to their philosophy of work and life, which is reflected in their wines: A sense of duty, commitment, confidence and creativity.The Goldmuskateller grape for the white wine of the same name from Cantina Tramin grows on slopes between 250 and 550 meters above sea level. The soils of the vineyards here are rich in limestone and have loamy to gravelly-loamy soils. The local terroir also includes strong temperature fluctuations between day and night. The night wind from the surrounding mountains provides the necessary cooling.After the harvest, the grapes were carefully pressed and then fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 19°C.
