The Grande Provence Shiraz flows into the glass in a dark garnet red. This Shiraz (Syrah) from South Africa matures for 21 months in French oak. This impressive red wine from the Franschhoek Valley is correspondingly complex.

The bouquet combines notes of ripe blackberries, blackcurrants, cherries and plums with subtle hints of vanilla, licorice and caramel. This captivating bouquet is underpinned by nuances of white pepper and tobacco.

On the palate, the Grande Provence Shiraz is dry and wonderfully soft, with supple tannins and masterfully integrated oak. Dave Swingler awards 4 out of 5 stars in John Platter's Wine Guide and chooses these words: ‘Smoky overlay of juicy blue and black berries; the 2020 is supple yet full-bodied, with dry grip from 21 months in oak.’ The elegant finish lingers for a very long time.
