The Rosenblum Rockpile Zinfandel 2022 is an expressive red wine from the renowned Rockpile AVA wine-growing region in Sonoma County, California. This area is known for its high-altitude, rocky vineyards, which produce powerful wines full of character. Rosenblum is considered the specialist for Zinfandels from the USA; these Zins are among the best in the world. For many years, Rosenblum wines were not available in Europe. We at Vineshop24 are proud to be able to present the "outstanding wines" from Rosenblum.

The grapes for this Zinfandel come from steep, east-facing slopes with poor, rocky soil and the vines grow in difficult conditions with a low water supply, resulting in low vigor and concentrated aromas. The wine is matured for 20% in new oak barrels, which gives it additional complexity.

In the glass, the wine presents itself with a deep, dark color. The bouquet reveals aromas of dark fruits such as blackberry and cassis, complemented by notes of dark chocolate and a hint of spices, as well as sandalwood and truffles. On the palate, it is full-bodied, juicy, with clear but fine tannins and well-balanced residual sweetness. The long finish lasts several minutes.

This Zinfandel is a great solo experience, but is also an excellent accompaniment to hearty dishes such as grilled meat, game or spicy stews. It is also a delight with mature cheese or dark chocolate.

But Quintessa is taking a less publicized, quieter approach, so Quintessa still flies "under the radar" in terms of name recognition. Wine connoisseurs benefit from this, as the quality of this grape juice is "outstanding", but the price, compared to Opus One, is not yet.And the 2019 Quintessa has also once again become a wine trouvaille, which was remarkably rated 99/100 points by James Suckling and received the high score of 100/100 points from WineEnthusiast.91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 2% Merlot, 2% Carménère and 1% Petit Verdot make up the cuvée, which matured in 60% new French oak for 22 months.The nose shows an incredibly vibrant picture of the elements of flowers, forest, fruit and earth.
