Chianti denotes Italian red wine from Tuscany, which was once traditionally sold in bottles encased in woven straw baskets known as “fiaschi.” Today, the Chianti Classico DOCG is one of the two most important red wines produced in Italy and its excellent quality has eclipsed the straw-covered bottle of yesteryear. The Tenuta di Nozzole estate vinifies the famous red wine from 100% Sangiovese grapes. The Tenuta di Nozzole Chianti Classico DOCG is macerated for 15 days in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28°C. The wine is regularly pumped over during the period. The Chianti is aged for 10-12 months in toasted 225-liter French oak barrels and, after bottling, aged in the bottle for another three months.The result is an excellent wine that has a surprising sweet, soft fruitiness, complemented by notes of spice that caress the palate.We recommend drinking the Chianti at a temperature of 16-18°C with roasted and braised red meats or as a dessert accompaniment to aged hard cheeses.Gambero Rosso awards three glasses to this dry red wine from 2019 and rates it as one of the best wines from Tuscany.

Tignanello Toscana IGT 2021

Diesen „Super-Toskaner“ braucht man eigentlich nicht mehr vorstellen. Italienische Eleganz, gepaart mit viel Finesse und feinster, vielschichtiger Aromatik bei balancierter Säure stehen auch beim 2021er Tignanello im Vordergrund, der 2021 fünfzig Jahre alt geworden ist. Nie auf der feisten und fetten Seite, nie erschlagend, und doch von majestätischer Figur, immer ausgewogen und höchst vielschichtig. Die Cuvée besteht aus 80 % Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon und 5% Cabernet Franc. An der Nase viel dunkle Früchte, Zeder, Kräuter, Orange, Gewürze, süsser Pfeiffentabak und Pfeffer. Dies setzt sich am Gaumen fort, mit zusätzlichen Noten von Grapefruit, Himbeere, einem Korb voll dunkler und heller Kirschen, etwas Nelken und viel cremigen, sanften Tanninen. Im Hintergrund spinnt eine feine Säure ihre Fäden und hält die Komposition zusammen. Der Nachhall ist extrem lang und nicht enden wollend. Der 2021er Tignanello bleibt dabei immer eine vollendet harmonische Hymne, ohne jegliche dissonante Noten. Wieviel Hingabe und Perfektion diesem Wein zu Teil kommt, wird auch dadurch deutlich, dass er 17 Monate im Fass reift. Davon verbringt er 3 Monate während der malolaktischen Gärung in neutralem Holz und liegt anschließend noch 14 Monate zu 50% in Neufässern. Es ist kein Wunder, dass auch in diesem Jahr das Flagschiff der Marchesi Antinori nahezu einhellig den Highscore der Kritiker abräumt (zu den Bewertungen siehe unten). Wer den Wein bereits heute gerne trinken möchte, sollte ihn mindestens für zwei Stunden vor dem Genuss dekantieren. Ansonsten dürfte er, die Geduld des Besitzers vorausgesetzt, noch mehrere Dekaden Trinkfreude bereiten. Parker: 98/100; Galloni 98/100.

The Uggiano Governo all'uso Toscano IGT is a creation of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo. It is produced using the traditional Tuscan Governo method. This involves adding a must made from grapes that have dried up like raisins to the young wine. In the case of Uggiano Governo all'uso Toscano, the grapes harvested first were dried on mats in the sun before the must was added. These grapes make up 10 to 15 % of the harvest. "Ancient technology with a modern twist," writes US wine critic James Suckling, who awards this red wine from Tuscany 92 points.The deep red wine has a captivating aroma of red and darker fruits (plums, cherries and blackberries) with a pleasant spiciness. Dry and full-bodied on the palate, wonderfully round and soft, with a subtle, invigorating acidity and supple tannins. A very subtle residual sweetness and a fine spiciness round off the taste experience.This accessible Italian red wine was matured in stainless steel tanks. Enjoy the Uggiano Governo all'uso Toscano IGT at a drinking temperature of 16 to 18 degrees.
