The Lanzerac Méthode Cap Classique (MCC) Blanc de Blancs Brut from the Jonkershoek valley near Stellenbosch is a sparkling wine made from 100% Chardonnay grapes. The vines grow in vineyards with deep, sandy soils, situated between approximately 200 and 400 metres above sea level. Harvesting is done by hand in order to ensure that only fully ripe and healthy grapes are selected.The fine sparkling Lanzerac is a good accompaniment to any occasion. It offers creamy notes of sponge cake, complemented by lively aromas of apples and citrus fruit. The tiny bubbles virtually tingle on the tongue. This sophisticated vividness reveals the wine’s elegance and subtlety. The palate is characterised by a fine note of yeast, precisely sustaining the long-lasting finish. The Lanzerac Méthode Cap Classique (MCC) Blanc de Blancs goes beautifully with smoked salmon or caviar. It is also ideal with other luxurious seafood such as oysters or lobster.

Lanzerac Mrs. English Chardonnay 2024

In 1914, Elizabeth Katherina English bought the Schoongezicht farm and renamed it Lanzerac. In the following years, one of the most modern wineries at that time was created at the Cape. In order to pay tribute to this impressive woman, this wonderful Chardonnay was produced.The grapes for the Lanzerac Mrs. English Chardonnay come from a single vineyard located in the Jonkershoek valley. The vines are more than 20 years old and are situated 375 metres above sea level. The wine gleams flaxen in the glass and offers citrus aromas on the nose. On the palate, this marvellously complex wine is full-bodied and long-lasting. It was aged in new and used barrels, giving the wine a beautifully clear balance and lots of character. The Mrs. English Chardonnay is wonderfully rounded off by a pre-eminent fruitiness. The wine’s high ageing potential ensures that it will be a genuine delight for the next 10 years.The Lanzerac Mrs. English Chardonnay is an ideal accompaniment to smoked salmon, white fish, pork or chicken and creamy pasta dishes.
