In recent years, the Delheim Grand Reserve, the flagship wine from the top South African winery Delheim, has been a guarantor of top ratings from national and international wine critics. And the 2018 vintage of Delheim Grand Reserve is also the result of exceptional winemaking.On the nose, this composition of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 15% Petit Verdot and 10% Merlot is wonderfully intense and multi-faceted. The red wine from Stellenbosch combines notes of dark fruits (with blackberries and black currants predominating) with hints of tobacco and tomato leaf. There are also nuances of violets, blueberries and graphite. On the palate, Delheim Grand Reserve is dry and wonderfully elegantly balanced. The dark fruit aromas and the present tannins interact in a remarkable fashion, complemented by the delicately fresh acidity and a finish with nuances of vanilla that lingers for a good long while. The Bordeaux blend from South Africa matured for 18 months in 300-litre French oak barrels after meticulous manual harvesting of the best, healthiest grapes. Delheim attaches immense importance to using only wood that meets the highest quality standards.The Delheim Grand Reserve 2018 also stands out visually: it is a deep, dark purple in the glass with a cherry-red rim. The makers are justifiably proud of this creation and see a storage potential of up to 15 years. Blackberry and plum aromas, backed by undertones of dark chocolate and vanilla. The wine is elegant and lingers on the palate.Fermentation with selected yeast strains. Temperature was maintained at 25-28°C. Pump-overs were conducted 4 times a day until fermented dry. The wine was matured for 13 months in French oak, and then bottled with a screw cap.

The Donier Donatus is a masterful cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, sourced exclusively from the Dornier vineyard on the sun-drenched slopes of Stellenbosch Mountain. The unique combination of red, weathered granite soil and clay-rich soils ensures that the grapes ripen slowly and evenly. The result is a profound wine of impressive concentration and fine elegance.The hand-picked grapes are carefully selected in the cellar and fermented separately. Fermentation takes place in open fermentation vats with pumping over four times a day to ensure optimum extraction while preserving the fruit aromas. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for 18 months in French oak barrels, a third of which are new barrels - this gives the wine a fine spiciness and complexity without masking the freshness. The harmonious blending only takes place after maturation, so that only the best components make it into the bottle.In the glass, Donier Donatus impresses with an intense black-violet color and a multi-faceted aroma of ripe blackcurrant, cassis and blackberry. The Dornier Equanimity Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the famous Stellenbosch wine region and embodies the spirit of a unique terroir with its deep structure and expressive fruit. Inspired by a retreat away from the noise of everyday life, this wine reflects tranquillity, balance and strength - qualities that make it a special experience for connoisseurs.The grapes ripened under optimal conditions, which enabled a perfect balance between ripeness and freshness. Fermentation took place in open tanks, with the mash being carefully pumped over and punched down four times a day in order to extract the maximum aromas and structure from the berries. The wine then matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, 35% of which were new, giving it a subtle, elegant woody note and additional complexity.Visually, the Dornier Equanimity Cabernet Sauvignon is an intense black cherry red. The nose is dominated by notes of cassis and black berries, accompanied by hints of cigar box, pencil shavings, subtle oak and a fresh hint of mint.
