The Boekenhoutskloof Cabernet Sauvignon is an elegant and powerful red wine from South Africa that impresses with its remarkable depth, structure and aromatic complexity. This red wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon and a small proportion of Cabernet Franc comes from organically farmed vineyards in Franschhoek. The grapes are carefully harvested by hand, rigorously selected and then fermented spontaneously in egg-shaped concrete tanks. The wine is matured in 95% new French oak barrels - a vinification process that gives the wine its elegant texture, velvety tannins and characteristic roasted aromas.In the glass, the wine is a deep purple red. From the very first whiff, it reveals a complex bouquet of dark berries, eucalyptus, graphite and herbs such as lavender and thyme. There are also nuances of liquorice, black tea and fine spices, which underline the aristocratic character of this Cabernet Sauvignon. On the palate, the wine is concentrated but never overloaded. The fruit is densely interwoven with a fine minerality, the acid structure is precise, the tannins ripe and supple. The wine lingers on the finish - with notes of cassis, mocha and a hint of leather.The Boekenhoutskloof Cabernet Sauvignon is an ideal accompaniment to aromatic, spicy meat dishes. It goes particularly well with rack of lamb with a herb crust, braised beef with rosemary or game dishes with a dark sauce. This wine also reveals its full potential with mature hard cheese and hearty vegetarian dishes such as mushroom risotto.

The wine shows typical Malmesbury Syrah flavours on the nose with intense spicy notes which is supported by ripe plum, black fruit and violet aromas.The wine has a grippy acidity and well integrated tannins with a well textured and rounded mouth feel. The long, elegant and succulent finish with superb structure from the Cabernet Sauvignon leads us to believe that this wine has at least 8 years of aging potential.

Boekenhoutskloof Porcupine Ridge Sauvignon Blanc

This Sauvignon Blanc from the Boekenhoutskloof estate shows a wonderfully fruity bouquet hinting of pineapple, papaya, kiwi fruit and apple blossoms. On the palate, this white wine from the Franschhoek valley is harmonious and round, with a lovely fullness and wonderful acidity. The finish shows notes of fresh apples. The vintage 2016 was dry. Nevertheless, with this Sauvignon Blanc the Boekenhoutskloof winery has once again succeeded in creating a wine that satisfies the most discerning tastes. The Boekenhoutskloof Porcupine Ridge Sauvignon Blanc was aged in stainless steel tanks and is an ideal accompaniment to light cuisine or simply on its own for those carefree, relaxing moments.

Boekenhoutskloof Porcupine Ridge Syrah

Intense red colour with opulent red fruit flavours and hints of pepper. A silky full bodied texture with soft tannins and integrated wood.The fruit is predominantly sourced in Malmesbury, with a small portion of Wellington fruit also used. Certain parcels are naturally fermented, but most are inoculated with selected Rhone strains. About a third remains unoaked, the balance is matured in old French barriques and on French oak staves.

Boekenhoutskloof Semillon

Lively pear, citrus zest, freshly cut apple and blossom on the nose with attractive, wet stone, spiced oak and nutty undertones. An impressive structure underneath a lovely combination of stonefruit amongst others. The 13 months of lees contact lead to a rich, textured, broad and rounded mouth feel, yet appealingly fresh from the core acidity. With the lanolin and other tertiary flavours that will develop even more, this wine will be one of the most complex and balanced ever to be produced from these 106 year old vines.7% Sauvignon Blanc was blended in to enhance the vibrance and freshness.

Der Boekenhoutskloof The Chocolate Block ist ein unverwechselbares Geschmackserlebnis aus Südafrika. In der Nase vereint dieser trockene Blend aus knapp drei Viertel Syrah (Shiraz) sowie kleineren Anteilen von Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache Noir, Cinsault und Viognier vielfältige Noten: Intensive Kirschnoten, Kardamom, süßer Tabak, Espresso und ein Hauch von Parfüm kommen hier zusammen. Am Gaumen vollmundig und rund, mit sehr guter Struktur, erfrischender Säure, einer rauchigen Mineralität und Aromen von schwarzen Oliven, sowie Lakritz und reifen Pflaumen.Für 16 Monate wurde der vegane Wein aus der Region Franschhoek im Eichenholz ausgebaut, wobei zu 10% neue Fässer zum Einsatz kamen.Der außergewöhnliche Rotwein passt ideal zu Pasta und Pizza, dunklem Fleisch (gebraten oder gegrillt), zu Geräuchertem oder zu mittelkräftigem Käse oder Hartkäse bei einer Trinktemperatur von 18 °C.Auch als 1.5-Liter-Magnum-Flasche erhältlich. The reds were fermented using selected Rhone strain yeasts. French oak matured with Viognier blended prior to bottling. Egg white fined.“

Obstblüten, Gewürze und Mandelgeschmack, gefolgt von einem gut strukturierten Gaumen mit schönem Gewicht und einem abgerundeten Finale. Der Wein hat einen verweilenden Nachgeschmack mit subtilen Holzaromen.Die Viognier Trauben stammen von einem Weinberg im trockenen Gebiet um Malmesbury, der Chenin Blanc aus Stellenbosch und der Grenache Blanc aus Piekenierskloof in der Nähe von Citrusdal. Der Chenin Blanc und Grenache Blanc wurden in französischer Eiche ausgebaut. Danach wurde der Viognier beigemischt und der Wein kalt stabilisiert, gefiltert und abgefüllt.Probieren Sie den The Wolftrap White von Boekenhoutskloof zu gegrilltem Hähnchen, Currys oder weißem Fisch.
