Boekenhoutskloof "The Wolftrap" Red

The Wolftrap Red from the Boekenhoutskloof winery is a red wine cuvée from South Africa that combines uncomplicated enjoyment with aromatic diversity.

An abundance of black and red fruit aromas characterize this wine, accompanied by a subtle hint of floral notes reminiscent of violets. Syrah provides the pleasant spice and freshness, while Mourvèdre gives the wine structure and depth. Ageing in oak barrels rounds off the overall picture harmoniously.

On the palate, The Wolftrap Red is soft and juicy, with notes of sweet berries, plums and a subtle spicy undertone. The tannins are pleasantly mild, making it a particularly accessible "easy-drinking" wine that still has plenty of character.

At a drinking temperature of 16-18 °C, this red wine is an excellent accompaniment to grilled meat, pasta, pizza or uncomplicated everyday dishes.

Boekenhoutskloof The Wolftrap Red is a versatile companion with a good price-pleasure ratio - ideal for relaxed evenings and social gatherings.

Boekenhoutskloof

The Mourvèdre from Les Jamelles has a deep red color with purple hues. The grape is an almost forgotten or little known local variety, which makes talking on its own with outstanding results. At the first taste impression he is very fruity, with strawberry, peach and currants aromas. The wine shows spicy scents such as marzipan, honey, lavender, thyme and Laurel and - just a touch of - roasted meat. The palate is surprisingly long and fat with a well-balanced tannins. The almost sweet finale leaves a mild, velvety impression. With 17 - 18 ° C to cheese, especially goat cheese and serve meat dishes such as pepper steak and game.IWSC: Silver Medal "Best in Class" Mourvèdre 2009Expovina 2009: Gold MedalJapan Wine Challenge 2009: Silver Medal

A South African taste experience of intense, rich coffee and chocolate aromas with nuances of ripe mulberries, plums and cherries. This dry red wine is also the perfect accompaniment to food. The grapes were picked at optimum ripeness in mid-February and divided into different batches and treated in different ways.Certain batches were treated by short heating to optimize color and then returned to the skins for alcoholic fermentation. Other batches were pasteurized and immediately fermented on oak to achieve the dark, rich coffee flavors. Still other batches were fermented conventionally on the skins and pumped over several times during alcoholic fermentation and racked into French oak to complete fermentation. All batches were stabilized by malolactic fermentation in French oak.
