Barón de Ley Reserva

Barón de Ley Reserva Is made from grapes coming from our own vineyards in Mendavia (Rioja Baja). The climate in this part of Rioja, with clear Mediterranean influence, provides excellent maturations which, combined with a low yield viticulture (5.000 kgrs/Ha. aproximately), result in modern Riojas with a “mediterranean soul”; wines with combine remarkable power with the elegance and harmony that have always been characteristic of the Rioja wines. The wine was aged for 20 months in new american oak casks, and afterwards 24 months in bottle until arriving to its ideal moment for enjoyment. This wine has not been submitted to filterings or artificial stabilizations, which might result in the appearance of natural sediments in the bottle.With an attractive red ruby coulour with medium-high intensity, in the nose it suprises for a powerful fruit remarkably blended with traces from its noble ageing: coconut and toffee, evolving into seductive nuances of spices and mediterranean bush. The attack is truly powerful and develops in the mouth a pleasant sensation of volume and onctuosity with drives us to a long finish, nervous and fresh due to its optimum acidity, and bringing back an aftertaste with red fruits and again mediterranean bushes.

A very deep attractive ruby red colour shows a young wine at the moment of its release.On the nose the wine is intense, but elegant, with acid perfume notes probably coming from the cherry aromas that also outstand. Barrel scents emphasize more than usual, but with a couple of months of bottle ageing the wine will be completely integrated.On the palate, very tasty notes and complex aromas enhance, although in a soft and elegant way. The bouquet of the Springfield Miss Lucy is characterised by wonderfully fresh citrus notes, nuances of pomelo and mineral aromas as well. This white wine from South Africa is a blend consisting of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Pinot Gris. The Sauvignon Blanc for this wine was aged in wooden casks, giving the wine its special complexity. On the palate, the Springfield Miss Lucy is powerful and complex, with an invigorating freshness and a great balance. This wine owes its name to the Red Stumpnose, an endangered fish species off the South African coast belonging to the family of sea breams.
