Springfield Whole Berry Cabernet Sauvignon

The Springfield Whole Berry Cabernet Sauvignon has a very intense flavor. This is rounded off by the authentic old style. The Springfield red wine has beautiful soft tannins.

This authentic old-style Cabernet is characterized by a pure and intense sweet fruit.

100% malolactic fermentation. The velvety red wine is aged in new and single-used French wooden barrels (Seguin Moreau) and then bottled without filtration or stabilization.

Enjoy the Springfield Whole Berry Cabernet Sauvignon with a delicious lamb chop with rosemary, braised Pata Negra pork or soft medium-aged Gouda.

Decanting is recommended for consumption.

Springfield Estate liegt in Südafrika in der Weinbauregion Robertson im Zentrum der südafrikanischen Halbwüste Klein-Karoo. Das Klima der Region ist heiß und trocken, bietet aber bei ausreichender Bewässerung aufgrund äußerst fruchtbarer Böden hervorragende Bedingungen, um Weine von beeindruckender, zarter Mineralität zu kreieren. Besonders für brillante Weißweine sind die Weingüter der Region Robertson bekannt.

Springfield Estate ist im Besitz der Familie Bruwer, die in der neunten Generation Nachkommen französischer Hugenotten sind. Den Durchbruch zur Spitze des südafrikanischen Weinbaus erreichten aber erst die heutigen Weinmacher um Abrie Bruwer.

Die Bruwers verwenden ausschließlich Trauben von eigenen Weinbergen, das Beste wird mit dem Namen Springfield ausgezeichnet. Springfield Estate steht für ein überragendes Qualitätsniveau, aber auch ein moderates Preisgefüge. Es ist eines der besten Weingüter Südafrikas für Weißweine, produziert aber auch hervorragende Rotweine.

Rubicon is the flagship wine from Meerlust Wine Estate. This intense and elegant wine shows everything: complexity and depth that are so characteristic of Meerlust wines. The dry red wine from South Africa is full and rich in flavor with creamy, concentrated fruit. Juicy and lively tannins and earthy tones.A super dark ruby red in the glass, almost opaque. A light orange hue shimmers at the edge of the glass. A smoky aroma rises to the nose. Then, with a little air, the bouquet develops into dark berries, yet not overloaded, but fresh and clear.The Rubicon is an intense experience on the palate. The fruity notes from the nose are echoed on the palate and are reminiscent of black cherry and blackcurrant. This is followed by aromas reminiscent of a cigar box. Delheim Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon
Blackberry and plum aromas, backed by undertones of dark chocolate and vanilla. The wine is elegant and lingers on the palate.Fermentation with selected yeast strains. Temperature was maintained at 25-28°C. Pump-overs were conducted 4 times a day until fermented dry. The wine was matured for 13 months in French oak, and then bottled with a screw cap.

On the estate's extremely stony quartz soils, the vines thrive in challenging conditions, giving the wine its characteristic pebbly, mineral expression.
