Der Bean Coffee Pinotage erhält sein charakteristisches Kaffee-/Mokka-Aroma durch geröstetes französisches Eichenholz. Darüber hinaus sind auch reife schwarze Früchte deutlich zu erkennen. Der Bean hat eine tiefviolette Farbe, die Nase zeigt Aromen von dunklem Mokka und gerösteten Kaffeebohnen. Der Wein hat viel Tannin, aber diese Tannine sind fein und seidig und gut integriert. Der Gaumen ist mundfüllend und für einen so jungen Wein überraschend komplex. Einmal probiert, ist dies ein Wein, den man nicht so schnell vergisst.

Der Bean Coffee Pinotage passt sehr gut zu leicht würzigen Gerichten oder zu gegrilltem oder gebratenem Rumpsteak vom Rind und Wild.

Mooiplaas Wine Estate
Mooiplaas Wine Estate and Private Nature Reserve, wie das Unternehmen vollständig heißt, liegt wunderschön zwischen den majestätischen, fruchtbaren Bergen und zwei Ozeanen in der berühmten Weinregion Stellenbosch. Das gesamte Anwesen umfasst 250 Hektar, davon sind etwa 100 Hektar Weinberge und 60 Hektar Naturschutzgebiet. Das Weingut ist seit Jahren im Besitz der Familie Roos. Auch weil das Naturschutzgebiet direkt an den Weinbergen liegt, ist ein umweltfreundlicher und nachhaltiger Weinbau unerlässlich. In den Weinbergen werden keine Pestizide eingesetzt. Eines der wichtigsten Merkmale ist der große Höhenunterschied auf dem Gelände. Dadurch entstehen auf den 100 Hektar Weinbergen vielfältige Mikroklimata.

By planting the pinotage grapes in rows in a north-easterly direction the grapes are not in the bright afternoon sun. This prevents them to develop a roasted and spicy aroma. And it helps even more that the sea is near, only 8 kilometer away. By low proceeds of 50 hectoliters per hectare the grapes get lots of intensity and the wine has enough strength and depth to let a part of it mature in wooden barrels.
